I had heard lots of ads on the radio about LUV, so I thought I'd give it a try.
The decor is great, I was very impressed with the layout and the amount of chairs, ect. It was very clean...as I was getting my pedi done, there was a gal cleaning things, sweeping the floor, washing down the chairs and tubs.
The receptionist (Heidi, I think?) was SUPER friendly. She was awesome and was totally accommodating.
My situation was a bit of a fluke I think - I came in and was told they were very busy and that there would be an hour wait. I was okay with that because I had other things I could do. When I came back I was told there would be another hour wait, only because a group who had booked the same time brought an extra person. I was disappointed. However, I really wanted a pedi and didn't want to drive across town, so I ran around for a bit and came back. Heidi was so friendly and we chatted for a bit before someone was available.
As soon as I was seated for my pedi I had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to introduce them self to me. Heidi asked if anyone had come out to see me yet, and I said no. She must have found/talked to someone because the girl came out to see me soon after.
As I was getting my pedi done, the technician was bad mouthing prior clients, one of whom was waiting for her to finish a top coat on her nails. Apparently this technician forgot to finish her nails before mine. That women left and the technician called her a not so friendly word, which was totally uncalled for. Especially in front of me.
After my pedi was done, I moved over to the dryers but my toe got bumped in the process. I let the technitian know and she disappeared. I didn't know what to do, so I just sat and let my nails dry. She eventually came back and told me about a conversation she just had on the phone. Again, using colorful language. She fixed the nail and said she'd be back in a second to put the top coat on. 10 more minutes passed and she still didn't surface, so I decided one nail without a top coat wouldn't be the end of the world.
I was on my way to pay and Heidi told me I was all set. As in didn't have to pay. That was really great of her to do. She said that since I had to wait so long, and that I did come back she would give me my pedi for free.
It's only been a few hours, so I'm not sure how it will hold up. I'm also not sure If I would return. If I had a different technician, it would be a possibility.
Went to LUV today for a mani/pedi with a girlfriend. I have to say it was disappointing. Much more expensive than other places, which I mentioned to the receptionist, especially considering their advertisements about being so cheap. The pedicure was fine but the manicure didnt even include hand lotion let alone a hand massage which comes pretty standard at other places. I had to have the manicurist fix my nail shape several times and they're still uneven. She didnt even ask if I wanted them cut down or shaped just went ahead and started filing. I will not be back.
I had a great time at this salon. Jen did a great job on my white/pink acrylics. Definitely worth the money. They are a newer salon and had to weed out the bad ones which can only be the explanation for all the bad reviews. I would recommend this salon to anyone!
I get my nails done every couple weeks since I turned 18. My co-worker and I went her after for work for some relaxation and my boyfriend had gotten me a gift card there when they first opened. Soooo excited to try it. First off our nail techs were extremely young and rude. We had already waited 20 minutes over our appt time and I was appalled by how rude the girls were. One of them continued to bad mouth the place and her manager and then went into details about how get family member was dying and she worked here to pay the bills. By no means am I an I sensitive person, I can't imagine going through that, but she kept going on and on how she needed good tips to pay the bills. It was soooo awkward. Our pedis turned out okay but while my co- worker and I were trying to have a conversation the girl kept interrupting us to tell us how broke she was and the dying family member. My shellac manicure was the biggest joke I had ever seen. My cuticles were ragged and half cut and bleeding. My nails were jagged and un- even and started splitting. I have very hard, long, thick nails. It's takes A LOT to split and break them, but she managed to do it. I got home from my appt at 7:30 and by 9:00 the next day two nails were peeling off. My the time I called them to complain I had 5 nails with no nail polish at the end of the day. Every shellac I have ever got before, had to be taken off because it last for weeks and starts growing out from my nail bed. They agreed to get me in that night after I hit out if work and I ended up waiting 30 minutes and told them I had to reschedule. They assured they would get me in at 1 the next day during my lunch hour and I would be done in plenty of time. I didn't want to keep walking around with half my nails painted especially in the business world, it looks tacky. So I went to my appt the next day to wait ANOTHER 25 minutes for my appt. I have up and told the girl I couldn't wait and had to get back to work. She said do you want to reschedule, I said no, I'm going back to my old salon tonight to get then fixed and don't plan on coming back. I threw out the remaining balance on my gift card in the trash on the way out. Do not go here! I've talked to soooo many other girls with the same experience, I only wished I would have asked around first before telling my boyfriend I wanted a gift card from here for my birthday. It was a waste of my time and his money.
My friend and I went for our first time and we were impressed. . We had read the reviews on here and couldn't believe people wrote such nasty things about such a cool place. Apparently the people that posted the bad reviews were in a bad mood when they went in. .
Been twice. Both times were bad. 1st time had apt. For 10 sat down at 10:45. Front desk yelling at some one over the phone in front of everyone. I think it was an employee calling in. My Mani was really bad. The paint job was bad, the paint was all thick and not going on right. They lady would not change paint container. They do the nails while you are sitting in the chair getting you feet done. I was soaking my feet for 1.5 hours while they did my nails. My feet were prunes. The paint was off my fingers in 2 days. My lady that was doing my nails complained about working their and about all the other lady's. The owner only pays very little for each time someone is in the chair. The second time. It took 1:15 to do just my feet. Then sat in the dryer for 15 came home took shower and the paint came off. You have to pay extra for everything they said that if would be $22 for the full pedi. I ended up paying $38. Will not go back
I just heard on the radio that "Brooke from 105.7" recommends this place. Joke? or not? its awful the quality is terrible and you pay way more for upgrades that should be included in the first place. Please Brooke do you really go here?
Yes, I did go to LUV and they did an AWESOME job. Seriously. It has been 10 days ago now and not a single chip. This is NOT a joke. I will be going back. I cannot speak about the prices for upgrades, etc. because I don't remember all those details. Hopefully you'll give them another shot.
