Founded in 1969, East Kentwood High School provides academic programs in business, mathematics, science and social studies. It also offers a program in life management, which includes classes in child psychology and nutrition and foods. The school provides technology education, offering classes in manufacturing systems, design processes, civil engineering, and architecture and communications enterprise. Its foreign language courses include Spanish, French, Latin and German. East Kentwood High School has a fine arts department, providing programs in drawing and design, sculpture and printmaking, ceramics and concert band and symphonic wind ensemble. The school s curriculum also includes programs in computer networking, financial planning, business law and accounting. Its library media center provides journals, books and magazines, encyclopedias and Internet access to students. The school is part of Kentwood Public Schools and is located in Kentwood, Mich.
