My transmission was slipping, so I went to a transmission shop only to find out that they could not recognize faulty diagnostic codes. Which means they didn't research the problem to find a way to fix only what the issue was (a leak in fluid gasket, and add some more fluid). This other shop han…

I have twice dealt with these folks, and my mother has as well. they are truly exceptional and I recommend them very highly! Compassionate, honest, accomodating, and kind. They feel more like family then folks with whom one does business. I genuinely recommend them above ANY "tote the note" …

All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
This shop has done decent work for me in the past with thminstalling seals and such. They have given me professional advice with the diagnosis on the stuff i needed advice on. However, when i took my 98 audi to these guys to have the front crankshaft seal and valve seals replaced. They had to take the front bumper off to install them on this car. Everything appeared to be put back in place. except for the driver side grill piece that fell out when i was about to leave. Mind you it is plastic but that is beside the point. I was blamed for this broken plastic piece. I take my car in again to have it looked at for a coolant leak. So they had done a couple tests. I start my car up after service and it kind if had a hard time starting. After i cleaned it out the next day. I tried to open the truck with the door unlock button. My trunk didn't unlock. So i tried to unlock it with the key. The factory alarm starts going off. So i start the car, and unlock again for the trunk. I turn the stereo on to remove the cassette tape. The radio is in safe mode. Which means the battery cable was removed with out powering the cigarette lighter to back up the alarm power. Apparently this shop doesn't know that removing the battery cable with put backing up the alarm power on an audi. will put the system in safe mode. Im pretty upset about this but hopefully this will not affect my trade in value for the car when i trade it in. I thought the shop had foresight on this. Due to the owner claiming to have owned a Volkswagen, but apparently not. If you have a German made car, i would recommend bringing your car here for anything that requires removing the battery terminals.
I found his ad on Craigslist. I was looking for a suv when I got there I was greeted and asked what I was looking for and he showed me his inventory and told me to take my time. I give them a 5 star because I was not hassled, or pressured which is a plus because I didnt feel rushed or made to feel i had to purchase from him. He took his time with me and answered all my questions even though he had other customers I witnesses how he managed all of us in the same demeanor very respectful and listened. This is a family owned business very knowledgeable about his inventory, great salesmanship. I love his moto "I would not sell you anything I wouldn't drive". While I was there several of his customers who had purchased from him had nothing bu good things to day about him. He will work with you no matter what your situation is. All in all my experience at hernandez auto was great from him,his mom and dad they are all very nice people. I would definitely buy from him again.
I immediately came online to find a place where I can review this place and express my opinion on the service they gave me. It's the least I could do and help them out. I had take my car to get brakes done. A few months went by and the squeak started as if they pads were going out. I was upset as it's only been a few months when brakes pads should not be replaced that fast. I took it back there thinking they wouldn't fix it without some type of charge. The story ends after they check out the car, he told they'd replace the pads (free of course) . It was the right thing to do on there end which is what the result was. No hesitation on replacing them. Anyway. I got my car fixed. No brake squeak. It was a $200 charge last time but out of courtesy they've fixed the set labor and all free of charge. That is how a business should treat there customer as I've gone there quite a few times in the past. I'll continue to take my business there again.
These guys do good work. I started with oil changes and inspections. Then I asked about a bad water pump on my Durango. He gave me a unbeatable price and said I could buy the part from Autozone or where I wanted, or he could get it and give me the recite for proof of purchase plus $10 for pickup charge. I was skeptical but went ahead. By the time I got back with the part they had the old one off. An hour later they were done. That was 4 years ago and it still works great with no problems. Now I send my newly licensed son there alone and trust he wont get screwed. They have never lied to me and are very friendly, you just cant ask for more from a mechanic. I'm sure they will make a mistake one day but I will work through it with them because I know it will be a honest mistake and not an choreographed ripoff like most other places run. Best place in the metroplex for prices and service.
I have been doing business with Jay and all the employees at U Save for many years now, not only personally but I also refer ALL MY clients to them. They are absolutely AMAZING! The go above and beyond to make your horrible experience (car accident) as easy and painless as possible. I have never worked with a more caring and understanding group of people in my life. When I say they go above and beyond, I mean they go above and beyond! EX - I had a client waiting for the other insurance company to approve the rental and Jay took the time to pick up my client and take her to the grocery store. (I'm pretty sure service king and all the other big collision centers) would never take the time to do that. With the big collision companies you are only $$ in their eyes, with U Save Collison, you are actually a person who they truly care about!
This place can be summed up in 2 words....Above and Beyond. Exceptional Customer service, Professional, Detail Oriented, and gave me a complete worry free repair in less than 5 days. (and trust me I had a pretty bad wreck) Not only were they able to help me with the insurance claim...they also caught a lot of problems that the insurance estimate had missed...including some broken brackets beneath the body damage. Jay and Gina are exceptional at knowing what to do and handled it all professionally and were so friendly. I hope to never have to use them again (lol) but if i do have another accident....Jay is now programmed on my phone.
I took my truck in last year here to have my suspension checked and found out that a lot of my parts were bad and need to be replaced. They were very professional and polite. they took me out to the truck and showed me what was wrong and explained everything to me. Mike the GM was very nice and gave me a great price on all the labor and parts. I only take my trucks here. i will recommend them to all my friends. Wonderful place
yeah they are pretty fast on oil changes and inspections. prices for oil changes are so cheap it makes you think about what is in the oil. Or they could just simply get a bulk rate discount. either way this is my #1 choice in the area due to I live about 5 minutes from there and other shops are way over priced. warning though. DO NOT GO ON WEEKENDS. ITS CROWDED TO THE POINT YOU WILL BE STANDING IN THE PARKING LOT.
One Concept does AMAZING paint and body work. Will always bring my vehicles and my friend's vehicles to them! They are miles above any other body shop in the area. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Don't except an el cheapo paint job because they don't do that kind of work. They do work they stand behind and that is a very admirable quality! Have sent tons of people their way and will continue!
I took my Honda in for scheduled service. John checked my car and found somethings I had been neglecting. He was so honest and helpful by showing me the things I needed to replace now and letting me know the things that could wait to be replaced another visit. Thank you John and Mike for the "above and beyond" customer service. I'll never go anywhere else again
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
