        Children learn by discovery. They discover ideas on their own, if given the right environment and tools. Confidence and self esteem grow from this process of observation and discovery. The Montessori method combines mixed-age classes with a carefully prepared environment of learning materials and flexible daily experiences. Highly qualified teachers and assistants facilitate the learning process by directing the children toward meaningful activity through which they discover and develop their interests and abilities and experience the outcomes of their choices. Special emphasis is placed on respect for self, for others, and for the physical environment. First Discoveries follows the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. We believe, as she did, that within each preschool child is the seed of unlimited potential, which will guide the child into adulthood. We emphasize individualized education as opposed to strict curricular education utilized within a daycare setting. Children are educated at their own rate of development. Our focus is to continually stimulate the child through an enriched environment with activities, materials, and extensions that promote experimentation at every developmental level. In essence, we offer the world on a silver platter knowing that the innate curiosity of children will promote independence, exploration, experimentation, and creativity.

        Overall

        Great school. The children learn at their own pace and are very independent and self confident. Teachers are loving and respectful to the children as they care for them. If you are looking for a preschool this is the place for you.

        found this to be a great school, wish they had one actually in Weatherford but don't want to miss out as they are close to having a waiting list to get in.

        After several visits to other ...

        After several visits to other schools in the area I found First Discoveries to be the best place to send my child. They are foward thinkers and teach my child to be as well. I highly recommend paying them a visit.
