We have been eating here for a good dozen years. As we live miles away it is only a few times a year. We ordered calzones on our first visit and have mostly stuck with them. We tried pizza one time and found it very good but the square pizza at Lechuga's is our preference. Now back to the calzone. For our taste, the best we have found so far. Not quite as large as the old days and on occasion the calzone bread is a little flat. We never had a service issue worth mentioning. Whenever we are in the area, its Carl’s for lunch.

Basil Doc's never disappoints. This carry-out location (on Holly Street) is consistently outstanding. Reasonably priced and great service. We don't …
I've lived in North Denver all my life, even worked at Carl's for a while. They have the best sausage sandwiches around and if you like a Lil kick ask for U & H chili on top. Wish they would go back to Pepsi® instead of coke but I'll always love Carl's pizza... for those that are worried that it changed because of Carl's passing, John has been there since he was 16 and has been making everything for years... no worries same great taste!
I was hoping for a good hole in the wall place, but I got a mediocre every other type of place. The prices aren't bad, but the fact you get stale cold cheese pizza with a few toppings you wanted tossed on to be heated for a few minutes in an oven makes you want to stay clear. Perhaps if it were fresh or they cared about what was served it would be worth the return. For now, there are so many other places, better places.
The pizza was a bit greasy, but as close to NY style pizza I have found in Denver. It is thin and sloppy and super cheesy, which is how I like my pizza. If you are looking for a thick crust or hearty pizza this is not for you. The Anthony's on Wads in Arvada even has a kids play area with toys, tables, and a vcr with kid movies. They always have good lunch specials too.
I think this is pretty good pizza right in downtown Denver. We are always pretty happy with our choices every time we go. It is also the Best place for pizza at 2 am too! It is packed when the Market St. bars close, but well worth the wait and highly entertaining as well!
I have had wonderful experiences with Pizza and Grill's customer service and food. The food is always fast and fresh and in my opinion way better then certain pizza chains.
Straight up awesome, small and not designed for large groups, but off the charts delicious and really sweet, genuinely courteous service.
I tried vini's for the first time and it's unbelievable the quality of the pizza is better than any Pizza Hut or black jack you could find
Great pizza. Great service. Helpful advice from waitress. Will return to try pasta another time. Overall great experience.
Everything about this establishment is great! Great location atmosphere, and food. Affordable prices, best pizza ever.
