this store is very clean and organized for such a busy location. great assortment of items too!

Shopping here is a bit like the television ad that says, "What's in your wallet?" Sales people seem to give you those furtive,hungry looks from the moment you enter. A discerning male employee in the Mens Dep't. saw me all but jogging my way through the aisles and swiftly helped me find what I needed. However, I also had to buy something for a female friend, and at that point I was descended upon like a hapless rabbit by some she-wolf saleslady who immediately began pressuring me to sign up for one of their charge cards. When I indicated that I only make purchases with cash or my debit card she looked at me aghast, as though I were some alien being. I suspected she gets a gold star or some free makeup if she signs up so many a day, but I was not in the mood to fill out an application. "It only takes 3 minutes," she pleaded like some desperate vampiress. 15 looong minutes later I was released from her sales-lady-on-overdrive claws, and now have a charge card I will probably never use.The merchandise? It's fine, but the place seems to have a perpetual "SALE" or "CLEARANCE" on everything but what I really need. (It's all related somehow to the seasons, as though one needs to rush out and buy a winter coat by the end of August.) I would probably go back...by 2015 when I need another pair of jeans; I certainly didn't get the shopping "gene." Women may appreciate the overall Macys experience a bit more than men I suspect....
