This is not a customer-focused business. We recently moved. After moving, I called to cancel and learned it was Fitness1's policy to only accept a written request for cancellation through the mail. Once they receive the cancellation, it doesn't take effect for 30 days. For a family that just moved 3 kids, 2 careers, and a house full of stuff halfway across the country, mailing in a gym membership cancellation can easily fall through the cracks. It's hard to imagine there is any other reason for this policy than to squeeze out an extra payment (or three!) from the organizationally-challenged.I informed the manager (who was immediately defensive and ill-tempered) that she had already gotten 3 extra months of our money and asked that she please accept my cancellation over the phone. I never asked for any money back. I promised that in return I would not write a bad review of the gym. She did not take the deal.

I was told there was a kids center in every facility. There's not. At the other facilities the machines are so old they break after five minutes. You move to a new one and then it breaks! They charge my husbands card by mistake constantly and never correct it. This is the worst company to deal with. I regret ever signing up with them to save a little money. LA Fitness is so the way to go!! And even though you give a 30 day notice you pay for 60 days?!? Ha ha what a joke..
