This school does not work well with "all children" that have developmental delays/disabilities. Nor does this school follow IEPs. I have never seen a faculty that knows so little about the law, it's like they are simply learning as they go. You can't require a parent of a disabled child to attend a field trip (or threaten that the child won't be able to participate) because you don't have staff to watch the student. That's a violation of the law (IDEA?) and discrimination. That was my initial experience with the current principal, and things have gone downhill since. They should really lose their funding for targeting children with disabilities, as it appears this Charter School is now a business, opening multiple schools, and hiring former Hedge Fund/investment managers (Gregory Gann) to guide them. This is not about the children anymore. I will do my best in Washington to stop the government from funding these "investment firms."

Absolutely terrible!their approach to learning is so loose that my kindergarteners have finished their first year at monarch academy, and CANNOT read! They are so against the standardized curriculum and testing that they have allowed students to fall behind during their kindergarten year! Aside from that, the school sits in the middle of an industrial park! I cannot express how sad it is knowing my children get to inhale truck fumes and play on a flat paced area at recess. This school can only allow each grade to use the outdoor play equipment 1 day a week, which means at recess, they just stand around like bumps on a log! I am very very disappointed and warn all parents to not send your kids to monarch academy glen bernie! They will not be taught properly.
