Don't even mess with this office. Head north to Mt Pleasant or south to Longview if you have to. Have been given different stories/excuses every time I go up there to try to get my youngest son a state ID. It's right there on the DPS website what they ask for. Yet the fine folks at the Gilmer office seem to make it up as they go as far as what they require.
It is being reported that while protesting the construction of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, two U.S. citizens were subject to Tasers, pepper spray, and prolonged stress positions by the Wood County, Texas, sheriff's office with TransCanada personnel on hand. This is shocking, appalling …

They have the absolute worst service out of any dps office you could go to in Texas. Do not go there. If you do make sure you don't go to the younger lady Tina she is beyond rude
WORST customer service EVER!!! They tell you, you have to be one of the first 5 callers at 8am monday morning. If you're not, you have to call again NEXT monday and try the exact same thing. Oh yeah, good luck being put on hold for 20 minutes once your call finally goes thru. By the time they pick up your line...guess what...the first 5 callers already got thru.
tryd to get a dl renewed and was basically laughed at! No doing it online! If i was in the state illegall i probaly could have gotten one Thanks TEXAS!!!!
