Best NY style pizza in AZ

Three cheese pizza w. pepperoni and sausage is the best and super hot, crisp bottom. Down with a coke and you will be happy.

I Miss This Pizza!!!

I knew Vic when he was making pizza in NY back in the day. Best pizza around!!! I miss his pizza and subs, wish he was closer. I miss the Sicilian pizza too... can't find real Sicilian pizza here in the Carolinas!!!

I like it!

Don't know what the last few people were talking about. Unless they went on an 'off' night, I found everything to be wondreful. The pizza and calzones were awesome. Even the salads, which aren't really a NY thing or a Anywhere thing were great. Okay, so it didn't taste my my local place back home, it was still great stuff. You got to try their frozen drink thingies. I got the Creamsicle, oaky 2. man was that good!
I give it a thumbs up in my opinion. I don't know what part of NY those last few people lived in or how to make the one guy happy (seems like he didn't like any place he went to), tut this was some goooooooooooood food!

Good not Great.

It was good but nothing special. I highly doubt that this is what real authentic New York style pizza taste like.

In Search of REAL Pizza... this was not it.

The search continues... I recently moved to the basin from New York and while I enjoy the Mexican fair, I miss REAL Pizza more than anything else from the North East... even the fall foliage. I looked up Pizza reviews online and saw that Nicantoni's was #2 in the valley, so I tried it last night (11/20) (at the Gilbert location). I bought 2 pies... one cheese and one meatball and olive. My wife and I decided that the pizza was about on par with the pizza that you get from Chuck E. Cheese back east.... not very good, only a small step above Pizza Hut. We decided that the problem was the crust... which is nothing at all like real pizza crust. The Pizza also was not nearly as greasy as a real New York Pizza. Overall I have to say the search for real Pizza continues. Nicantoni's might be a good alternative for Domino's but if you're from the northeast don't believe the claim that this is real New York Pizza, because it is not.

Great pizza, excellent service

Me and my co-workers were in town on business and the owner really took great care of us. The waitresses were extremely friendly and we had a blast. The pizza was amazing and we came back every day after that!!

Great pizza, Great service, Great atmosphere

new york city girl you really dont have any taste bud's you must have lived in mexico or something
arizona this really is the best pizza ever made.. wow even better than back east ....NYC. MA...FLA..RI..VA..NH
etc.. I have lived here now for 5 years i have tried the BIG Company pizza's and even tried the small ones
and let me tell you ..Nicantoni's is by far ""The Best""

1. the service
They greet Every Customer with a smile, even the regular customers by name ..big company's dont do that

2. the food
always cooked the way YOU like it. if you like the crust softer just ask im sure they will do it
my favorite pizza is there ricotta cheese omg it's to die for. Highly recommed it..and for a side try there jalopeno popper's Mmm there good.

3. the walls
back east you have checkerd walls traditional red and white Boring... here the walls are a dark purple with splashes of color on them definately a relief for sore eyes.. oh and would any of the other companys let you even sign your name on there wall I DONT THINK SO..find my name im jim from boston

4.the point is
No matter where you are from or how you like your food Nicantoni's really is the best pizza you'll ever have with the a friendly service ,great atmosphere and the Quality you expect

I felt sick after I ate this JUNK

WOW!! I would have rather taken my family to McDonalds and ate off the dollar menu. Not only is the service HORRIBLE ( staff is very careless, un-friendly & not too great to look at ) but the pizza made me sick to my stomach! LITERALLY! We made a 30 min drive to this "" fabulous "" NY style pizza place & were EXTREMELY dissapointed. I had to take advil while eating just because the hideous purple wall's gave me a headache! Watch barney much? I'm from NY & I am ashamed that people think this is how us New Yorkers eat & like our pizza. It's wrong that this place can say they have "" authentic NY style pizza "".Their toppings were cold & bland. We ordered a sausage pizza and the sausage was cold, crumbled up & tasted as if it had been sitting out for days. DO NOT GO THERE!!! It is a hole in the wall and not worth the money at all!! There is a reason it's dead on a Saturday night people!! Hopefully one day I will find "" authentic NY style pizza "" in Arizona!

Best in the World

I was not a pizza fan, but my daughter was. We had heard that Nicantoni's had good pizza, so I reluctantly took my child their for dinner one night. I still do not like pizza that much with the exceptions on Nicantoni's... it is the only pizza I will eat. If I could afford to buy it every night I would. The pizza is perfectly done... not too much.. not too little..great flavor.

This pizza is the best pizza i have ever had. The crust id crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the sauce is delicous becasue it is not overpowering and goes well with the ooey gooey cheese. Its quite a long drive to get there from where i live but is definitely well worth it.

The worst pizza I have ever had in my life. The sauce was beyond boring, the toppings had no flavor whatsoever! The crust was burnt and when I called to ask if it was normal, they said ""YES""! Thanks for the cardboard! Even though we paid $15 for this, we didn't want to waist our calories on bad pizza. Hopefully the homeless will enjoy it at least.

Best Pizza in the valley..

I was told the pizza was great but I hadn't eaten there until I was invited to join some friends.Well, all I can say about the pizza is, after the first bite I knew this pizza was going to be a real treat. For me NnT's is the place (worth traveling to) to get the BEST pizza I have tasted anywhere in the Valley... The only way to know what I mean would be to go and try it, then when you get home jump on the laptop and write your own review about what a great pizza you just ate...

Amazing pizza

I was craving pizza after doing a bodybuilding competition. I didn't just want any pizza. This pizza place came up highly rated, so I went for it. First off, the service was great. Ordered over the phone and it was ready by the time I got there (10-15 min). The front desk person was just as friendly in person as well. The pizza was very grease dripping...just soft thick crust with the fresh toppings of my choice. The pizza smell was amazing as well. You can also buy by the slice so you don't have to consume a whole pizza. Those of us who just want a taste of heaven every once in awhile can have it in moderation. Two slices was actually too much, but I ate them both because they were so good. It's a little hole in the wall, but the best little hole in the wall pizza place I will be going back to over and over again. I am an exteremly picky person, so getting a rating this high is rare.

Over rated pizza

After reading the reviews on here, I decided to try Nicantoni's. Being from NY and having searched for a decent REAL piece of NY pizza in this town I was excited to try Nicantoni's pizza. I was very disappointed. The pizza had no flavor, no olive oil, no oregano and no taste. There wasn't much cheese on it or tomato sauce and the sauce tasted like Chef Boy Ar Dee. I have to say, though, that the crust was thin and crisp and very good. Also, I had requested garlic and meatball topping on my pizza and the garlic was chopped garlic from a jar, not fresh, and the meatballs did not taste good at all. In addition the toppings were put on the slice and not cooked long enough so that the meatballs were barely warm when they came out. I ended up removing the toppings and just eating the slice itself. VERY disappointing.
Nicantoni's does have some good points however. My husband and I both had salads, he had the house salad which was basic and I had the antipasto salad which was pretty good...not great. The Italian dressing was very good, but ask for it on the side if you don't want your salad drowned.
We also ordered desserts, hubby having the spumoni which looked good and he enjoyed it, and I had the tiramisu which was a really nice surprise. It was small, but very rich and tasted wonderful.
The service is very good, a cute casual atmosphere, geared towards the younger crowd.
The owner also came out to chat with us which was nice, a very nice young man from New York. The other pleasant surprise was that he had playing a radio station from Woodstock, NY which he gets off the internet, so that was nice to hear...reminds me of home.
All in all, I would try it again, but not for their pizza. They also have calzones and some other things but nothing fancy, and no real Italian dishes other then that.
Worth a try, but definitely NOT the best NY pizza!

Huh? Hmmmmmmmmmm? You're nuts Laysha444.

This place rocks. You must have been sent from somewhere else to write a bad review. The food and service are always great when I go there.

This is by far the worst food i have ever had in my whole life. The cheesesticks were baked all soggy.. so were the mushroom... the place was so ugly.. i will never ever go there again... the worst food the pizza was so bland... this is not new york style pizza.. the service was slow and no one was in even in the place on at sat. night! yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vic Buono's, NICANTONI'S pizza will have you coming back for more....and more!! If you want a place to go to where you feel at home and know whatever you order will be done the way you like it, you have to go to Nicantoni's. Vic knows how to make the greatest pizza with that New York look and taste. The atmosphere in this little restaurant is warm and friendly, makes you feel like one of the family!! So, if you want to feel good, eat great food, and enjoy the evening, try it. And if you are a stay at ahead, it is worth picking it up yourself instead of settling for delivery. Don't know what your missing!!
