The Caring Place provides emergency help and 60% of its funding comes from their resale shop. It's a big operation: they have a lot of space and sell furniture, which they'll pickup and help load/unload. They've got their resale shop nicely departmentalized- outdoor stuff, kid's toys, an upscale boutique, an 'antique' shop. Lots of volunteers make this place go. It's the real deal and the prices are good! Love it!

One the very best anywhere for clothing; decent on books/media, linens; much spottier on other merchandise such as furniture, electronics, housewares. Most clothing comes from New England, and is generally good quality. Prices are significantly higher for new clothing items with tags on, vary by…
This is one of the few thrift stores that's still thrifty. I don't think they've raised any of their prices since they opened. Shirts are $1-3, skirts $3, pants $4. All kinds of random awesome stuff -last time there I found a wetsuit, a movie camera, a cool set of vintage dishes, and a ton of cl…
Stay away from this place!!!Stay away from this place!!! I can overlook it being dirty, very smelly merchandise that they sell because the prices are outrages but the people running this place now are some of the rudest people I have ever met! They say that 100% of their profit goes to helping people in need. I don't agree to that I have gone there several time asking for help and they have denied me because I didn't have documentation to show my crisis. I couldn't believe it all the businesses and some of the churches donate to them they are becoming worst than the Texas Health and Human Services for Food Stamp you have to bring every documentation like birth certificate, lease, proof of income and so on. If their are here to help the community in need of food why denied them that's what I can't understand. Now if they need help paying a bill or something in that nature than you need to bring the late notice bill.I just think the community of Georgetown should stop donating everything to the Caring Place and donate to other organization so that they can expand and help more people instead of dealing with rude and nasty people like they have become because they are no longer here to help the community they here to make money. Plus, it will give the community another place to go instead of JUST the Caring Place another cities have more than one place for food and Georgetown only have the Caring Place plus it really doesn't help families in need when the Caring Place makes it so difficult to get food from them. I also was told that they are given food from the Capital Food Bank to help people in need but they just don't.PEOPLE OF GEORGETOWN COMMUNITY PLEASE RECONSIDER DONATING EVERYTHING TO THE CARING PLACE AND LET'S GET A SECOND FOOD BANK STARTED SO PEOPLE IN NEED HAVE A SECOND PLACE TO GO TO GET FOOD.GOD BLESS!!!The prices on clothes are outrages is cheaper to purchase them brand new at Walmart then to purchase them at the Caring Place even though these items have been donated to help people in need.
The Caring Place is FABULOUS! ! They have a very clean business and in the store it is broken down into departments just like a regular department store.I do have one negative...the entrance porch. ls messy and has broken down junk. on it. Not reflecting what you find inside the store.
