Overall

The concern at this place is about the money they make and not about the animals. The vet was hesitant to offer his advice because he overheard us speaking about how money is tight. He had no problem asking if he found anything wrong with my puppy if we would even be able to pay for it to be fixed. So rude and so disrespectful. I will NOT going back here and will not recommend it to anyone.

I wish I could not even give this place 1 star. First of the ladies at the front desk have no people skills. They are very rude, and I have witnessed them talking about customers when they leave. Second the prices are outrageous and these people have no compassion whatsoever. Third I left my dog in their care for a week while I was on vacation. When I picked my dog up he didn't seem himself I just thought maybe he had been depressed since I had been gone. When I got home he kept whining and sulking around that's when I discovered a large open wound that was seeping fluids and bleeding. The vet was already closed so I patched it the best I could and took him immediately when they opened. They told me they would take care of it...they gave him medicine and some wound spray. They told me they wanted to do antibiotics because some insecticide could have gotten in it from where they spray the kennels. WHO SPRAYS INFECTICIDE ANYWHERE WHERE DOGS STAY TO BEGIN WITH. They then proceeded to charge me $82 for wounds that happened in their care after I had paid $200 for his stay their to begin with. Not once said we are sorry and they did not "take care of it". Please do not take your animals to this place. My dog took weeks to heal and now has scar tissue and is very sensitive in that area.

It's very sad when you are a client for over 18 years, and you get treated as if your just another pet owner. In the past few years, the Dr. and staff seem to have lost their compassion for the pets and the owners.

The prices for service have become outrageous, and sadly we left here. We now found a wonderful animal hospital, in which all the doctors actually sit down (15-30mins) with you and explain everything to you, and the cost is MUCH cheaper!

I think Dr. Lineberger has gotten over his head with the new building and all the upgrades and now raising his prices that are very high compared to other local vets.

I am so glad I found a new pet hospital that actually cares about the pet AND their owners well being.

Check around, you'll find better prices and more compassion in staff and doctors.

Overall
was ok but..

Maybe I should have given 3 stars but ...anyway, I just got back with my 12 yr. Old cat and although they were nice enough, I hate it when places charge you for things that you've not exactly approved. Baby girl (my kitty) had an ear infection and of course her ear was 'runny' and therefore her hair around the ear was a bit messy. The vet decided (in a way like they were gonna be nice and take care of that) that they would clean around her ear. Well, that seemed nice but then I was charged 10 bucks for it! They simply took a clipper and with a swipe removed a little bit of hair. Really, 10 bucks? There's no way I would have wanted that for 10 bucks, I could've done it myself and actually i started to do it before I took her in. The vets should ask you if you want things like that done first and give you

the cost or let you know there's a charge. The other thing is that she gave a pain Med when in fact the antibiotic shot (that I payed extra for, instead of the pills) would have been just fine. We all know the infection is what causes the pain. Why pay for pain meds when the antibiotics almost immediately (especially when its a shot) starts working. Then I was also given a ear drop for "just in case" . This was fine and would have taken them any way but its just so obvious how they work a person. I guess any place will do this to you and I know that you have to just ask the questions ( and of course you seem like a B) and not let them run the gammet on you.

In response to this post we at Lineberger Veterinary Hospital do our best to be transparent with all procedures and their related charges. We never charge for non-elective services without written and verbal consent. Some medical conditions in particular require procedures in order for proper care and diagnosis.

Lineberger Vet was voted the B...

Lineberger Vet was voted the Best of Gaston two years in a row. The prices are low but you do not have to compromise care. The staff really do seem to care and they are always kind.

Been going here for 14yrs!

I love this place, though back in the day, Dr. Lineberger "was" the cheapest in town. Nowadays, they are right up there with all the other vets in the area.

The staff is wonderful and VERY caring. Debbie and her staff in grooming do an excellent job!

It can get very expensive owning a pet and making sure that they are well protected.

They don't frown upon you if you decline certain tests. If you need to cut back in your budget somewhere and want to take good care of your pet, just tell them. They will work with you to some extent.

I would highly recommend them to you.
