I took my 4.2L block to this shop completely bare and paid for hot tanking and new cam bearings and resurface the deck.
Guess what, you guessed it,I got ripped off.$140.00 later I found out after inspecting.I was told they cleaned it ( I had rust in the water ports)told they put new cam bearings in ( cam bearings were scratched deeply and had discoloration and wear) Now let's get to the resurfacing the deck, after inspection and checking for flat (warped surface) I noticed none of the pins were removed and noticed grinding marks, areas outside of pins were never touched.Found out between two cylinders,I had over 4 thousand of an inch ,more than the minimum allowed, this tells me this was the direction the grinder started and went.
I personally wouldn't recommend them to do any work for anyone,I would stay away from this machine shop.As far as I'm concerned the dirt track people keep them busy, and if you think about it,racers out there are not getting what they pay for, they keep the engines out of spec and it keeps causing failures, making them return to them.
This is a machine shop without the proper machines and without the right qualifications.

I've heard a lot of good thing...

I've heard a lot of good things about their quality. If you go there though give them a week to get to your job started (there are other customers) and then begin calling them either weekly or every couple days. I left my number with instructions to call if he needed anything, and its been over two months and he just ordered the parts last week and started work yesterday. I'll put up another review if he's forgotten any parts. Go to Bob Lane and Sons instead.
