IN GASTONIA HANDS DOWN THIS IS THE BEST BEST BEST cupcake place in town. I've tried them all and I have to disagree with "thegirlwiththecake" you must own your own bakery and are trying to start drama because all the times I went there I have never been treated that way and the cupcakes there on their worst days is better than any bakery around on their best days. AND NO I don't own a bakery. PEOPLE THIS BAKERY IS GOOOOD!! TOO BAD they have moved out of the mall but they are worth finding.
I heard about how terrible this place was, but I was completely unprepared by the atrocity of this "bakery." When I arrived, I cheerfully greeted the girl at the counter, who next to ignored me as I glanced at the cupcakes. The place was dead, so I asked her a few questions about which cupcakes are most popular, and which ones were her favorites. She reluctantly answered by questions, and acted annoyed when I asked her if any of her cupcakes had fillings etc. Finally, I chose white chocolate pretzel and peanut butter. She grabbed the cakes (without gloves) and tossed them into brown paper bags, and rang me up at the register. I left--already upset about the awful customer service. About the cupcakes themselves: They had a gummy, dry consistency and tasted like they were baked the day before from a mix. The "buttercream" frosting had no pretzel, white chocolate, OR peanut butter taste at all and had the texture of unsifted powdered sugar. Whoever owns this joint needs to rethink how she/he sells their awful product and probably should reevaluate the terrible employees they've hired.
Okay ... so I hate to write a bad review but these cupcakes leave MUCH to be desired. These cupcakes were dry, packy, and the frostings all tasted like the ingredients had separated and/or like they used all imitation flavoring. My family and I purchased 4 different flavors and NONE of us took more than 1 bite. I will NEVER purchase cupcakes from this place again.
