We were very willing to buy a car today, but we didn't end up doing so. This place has a good selection of cars at reasonable prices. However, I gave it three stars because of the customer service and the fact that they don't finance anything for longer than 12 months. My husband and I lost a car unexpectedly recently, so we were looking for a reliable, affordable vehicle. We don't want to get too much of a monthly payment until I get out of law school, when hopefully we'll be able to get a new, new car. However, while this place gives you 0% financing, they won't do anything over 12 months. Zero percent is great, but not when it means a $200/month car payment for something 8 years old that we're putting over half down on. If we had known that was the case, we wouldn't have bothered driving an hour to get there. We would have rather paid the average dealer interest rate on used cars and been able to spread out the payments a bit. The prices are quite reasonable though if you haven't just given the NC bar and Kaplan bar review a few grand. My biggest complaint, however, is the customer service. The salesperson honestly didn't seem all that interested in selling us a car. As soon as we arrived, he told us he had to leave in a little over an hour, though we had called ahead to make sure they 'd be open. He tried to tell us that the burning oil we smelled was actually the chemicals from the leather repair. BS, but my husband has worked on Volkswagens a lot, so he wasn't that concerned. Then, as soon as we asked about financing, we magically disappeared to him. He actually starting talking over me while I was sitting in front of his desk to some customers who apparently wanted to pay cash.
Straight pricing without the games. I am not impulsive. I went to Carolina Quality Preowned as part of my research and left with a car. So NOT like me, but I felt that the price was fair and comparable to the best I could possibly do with hours of back and forth negotiation elsewhere. This was so much easier. I knew the car that I wanted and the general price ranges on various dealer lots and the preliminary pre-negotiation prices. They had my car at a great price and I was in and out super fast. Next time, I will do my research and then go straight to them. Alex even gave me their discount on services for the car months later!
About a month ago I purchased a vehicle from CQPO and I am more than satisfied with the whole transaction. The owner Alex was straight up about everything and his prices are "no haggle" which suits me fine. He worked with me for weeks which is more than I can say for other dealerships, it was worth the drive from Raleigh to Garner, he even seen me on a Sunday, his day off. Very professional to work with and I would recommend him to family and friends. I will definitely purchase another vehicle in the future from him. TOP NOTCH QUALITY!!!
Very impressed with vehicle selection. The sales staff was courteous and profession. We purchased a 2014 VW Passat with only 34k miles. One owner, all service records, clean carfax. The best part was we saved $2,300 compared to a larger dealer in Clayton. They also got me a 2.79% rate on my loan. That was 2% lower than our credit union. Highly recommend 4042 Motors.
Purchased our 4th vehicle from Phil and Alex this weekend !! Great guys all around, even gave us help when vehicles needed repair Alex was willing to finance our daughters vehicle at zero percent when she came up short on funds and traditional banks would not help. Can not say enough good about these guys and how they help people in hard times!
Great place to do business. The people are very knowledgeable, and have a large selection of well equipped vehicles, not you typical program cars like you find at the franchise dealers. They have some of the best financing available. Don't believe haters on here.
