Everything's I come to Galveston I search for the best food on the island. Well I am here to tell you I have found it. I have all of the chain/tourist restaurants, yuck and predictably so! The restaurants with all of the gorgeous views, inevitably have the worst food. Well when you are in Galveston and that monster in your stomach cries out. You know the one, the starving demon that can only be fed with Mexican food. Well do yourself a favor and look no further. What it lacks in the way of a view, it spends on pampering you with the good stuff.

3. Taco Cabana
Obviously the TABC (wanna be) cig- smoking table trash / dumpster clean-up chick & Ole' Queen Bee Mgr. had the same brain cell working when motivated to call for a 3 car (authoriti) alert after the monies promptly collected for a very poor ""dinning experience"" went outside some sort of perci…

Mexican Restaurants are becoming a dime a dozen, and I feel this one stands out among them all. We were there in April of 2005. The staff was friendly, the food was out of this world, and I feel the price was just right. The Chipole Shrimp appetizer was incredibly delicious. They have the…
Ordered ocampo special $7.50 which means $11.98 plus a tip. Meat was just like SHOE STRING LEATHER. Told waitress and she just giggled. NEVER AGAIN. Before went in for a breakfast burrito and the bacon was so hard I thought I'd break a tooth. Get a COOK! !!!!
22. Chico's Paradise
In July I had to plan & host a group dinner for 20+ people. Unfamiliar with the Galveston area restaurants I turned to CitySearch for help. Chico's Paradise turned out to be the perfect spot for our group. Casual and fun atmosphere with not too loud music. They put us upstairs away from the…
if you like Mexican cuisine you will not be disappointed! It is the "original" with great food and great service! I have been many times and always take my guests here, when we have out of town visitors! Everyone wants to go back when they come back to visit us!
I Just Went for Labor Day weekend Wasn't expecting much The food is sooooo good the beef fajita has a really good flavor can't wait to go again and try something else Awsome place and very friendly service
I would have given it 5 stars, but they quit serving carne guisada. They have chosen to cheapen their food quality. You can't order a breakfast burrito with more than 2 toppings and they are quite small.
The food was ok... the service sucks! we got seated and finally the waiter acknowledges us... Ordered menudo waited at least 30 more minutes for our food...
Absolutely the best Mexican food on the island. Great service, great food, great margaritas, great atmosphere. I can't get enough of this place!!!
Nice little place. A little off the beaten path, but good food, good prices, good lunch specials. Will even make specials orders for you.
