MRI
InterStim is an FDA approved, reversible, treatment for overactive bladder and non-obstructive urinary retention. InterStim is a small implantable device that sends mild electrical impulses to your sacral nerves to decrease symptoms of your bladder control problems. This is an outpatient procedure done at the hospital or surgery center. The device is MRI compatible.

Dr. Meredith P. Jankowski studied biology and fine and performing arts at Saint Joseph’s University before getting her Osteopathic medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Upon graduating in 2006 she completed a year of general surgery before fulfilling an active duty obligation to the United States Navy. During her four year commitment she was a flight surgeon with the Marine Corps and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. During her time in the Navy she was awarded the Fleet Marine Warfare Device, National Defense Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Navy Sea Service Ribbon, and the International Security Assistance Force Medal.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
BPH, or benign prostatic hypertrophy, is a common benign condition in men as they age affecting about 40 million Americans. About half of all men between ages 51 and 60 and up to 90% of men over age 80 have BPH. When the prostate gets large enough it squeezes the urethra and causes lower urinary tract symptoms like frequency, urgency, straining, and getting up to void in the middle of the night. Severe BPH can cause urinary retention. When symptoms become noticeable or bothersome medications, minimally invasive surgery, or surgery may be needed to alleviate them and protect and maintain bladder function.

A vasectomy is a surgical procedure meant to prevent pregnancy permanently and it’s super effective, almost 100%. It is a simple procedure done in the office, surgery center, or as an outpatient at the hospital. The small tubes in your scrotum are cut, cauterized, and tied so sperm can’t leave your body and cause pregnancy.

BOTOX® injection into the bladder is well known to treat overactive bladder and urge incontinence. The procedure is done as an outpatient in the hospital or surgery center. BOTOX® has been proven to work when medications did not. It usually lasts for about 6 months which is why it has to be done, on average, twice a year. Most patients notice a difference within 2 weeks with full results seen at about 12 weeks. BOTOX® is covered by Medicare and Medicaid and many private insurances.
