Overall
Food
Service

Casual dining, wood booths and chairs (not very comfortable) but service was okay and food was good. More of a family atmosphere; great for lunch or a quick dinner

Yuck!

I had been here once with my whole family everyone hated it we spent so much for food we couldn't even eat after the first bite I ordered lasagna and it was so gritty like I had sand in my mouth

This place is great. We stopped by

This place is great. We stopped by while we were shopping in Smithville. We were just expecting the average bar food, but it was much better than that. I order a crab caeser salad. It was excellent. They put a ton of crab on top unlike the crab salads that I had at other places. My boyfriend ordered a roast beef sandwich. It's real carved roast beef and so is the turkey sandwiches that they serve. Definitely stop in if you ever get out to Smithville.

"Lantern" Doesn't Light Me Up

I was not impressed at all by this establishment. The hostess and waitress were inattentive, the menu was small, and what was there was overpriced for the quality given. The food itself was decent, but nothing to write home about. The decor is not "historic", if that's what you're looking for; just very dated. Considering the attraction of the historic Smithville and the pull of tourists, I expected much more.
