I would not recommend Tennessee Heart & Vascular Institute. As a new patient I was referred by my Primary Care physician to see Dr. Paul Kudelko. On my initial appointment I was sent to the wrong location. Dr. Kudelko was in Gallatin that day and I was sent to Hendersonville. I understand mistakes are made, so I elected to re-schedule for another day. On my second attempt I waited an hour past my scheduled appointment time and finally walked out without seeing the doctor. Tennessee Heart & Vascular Institute gives the impression of being more concerned about how many insurance claims can be filed per day than giving quality care to their patients. My heart is important to me, so I will be seeing another cardiologist, but it will not be Dr. Paul Kudelko and the Tennessee Heart & Vascular Institute.
I was informed that I had an irregular PAP and would have to come back for a biopsy. I discussed insurance options and found out that the procedure wasn't covered. I was emotional and frightened. I told the receptionist that I couldn't afford the biopsy and her response was a quick and rude "I'm sorry" followed by an angry click of the telephone. I was appalled! After a few days, I decided that I couldn't live with the 'what-ifs' and scheduled the appointment. I brought my boyfriend along to help comfort me. The staff did not acknowledge him, not even a hello. The Nurse Practitioner, Jessica Byrd, compromised my relationship by stating information that just the week prior she told me that I did not need to discuss with my boyfriend. I was horrified! Also, the previous week, I mentioned that I did not like having a nurse's assistant in the room. They failed to meet my needs. During the exam, the Doctor told me that I had nothing to worry about and that we didn't even need to take a biopsy. A huge wave of relief fell over me, just to be taken back seconds later when she said that she was going to take a sample anyway. The staff have no sympathy for their patients. They are there to provide a service and that is all. They don't take even the slightest steps at making their patients feel comfortable. I have had enough of this clinic. I wouldn't recommend Gallatin Women's Center to my worst enemy.
On the early morning of 2/15/14, Saturday, at about 6 am eastern time (was on my way to work in the eastern time zone) I attempted to reach my father who was a patient there. (Dad is a hospice patient but was an inpatient a few days.) I called and after 4 or 5 attempts through the operator, who sounded like I had just awakened her, and kept putting me through to the hospice answering service (outpatient services) and NOT my father (My dad's nurse is who I was requesting to speak to) I finally gave up on the black lady answering the hospital phone (operator?) and called back another time and asked to speak to the nursing supervisor. She was the most rude individual I have spoken with at any hospital ever before, just kept giving me a lecture on HIPAA and how the nurse couldnt tell me anything.... (as if I am not aware of HIPAA. I told her I was also an RN, on my way in to work to perform a 12 hour shift without my cell phone, and wanted to find out how my Dad had fared as I might not receive news all day,,, and my Dad is dieing and was supposed to be there receiving platelet transfusion... and I just wanted to speak with his nurse.) She was so rude to me, and this is an important moment in life, as I reminded her, birth, death of your parents... that I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW AWFUL I WAS TREATED by Sumner Regional staff. NO WONDER my Dad just wanted to get out of there! These folks who represented you made a LASTING IMPRESSION. Wont forget it.
Love this group!! Crystal and her nurse Tamara are amazing. Down to earth and understanding!! Highly recommend.
This is the worst office I have ever been to. Crystal Brock the nurse practicioner is the most uptight person I think I've ever met. She refused to treat me for an infection because she "wanted my body to clear it up on it's own" and another doctor finally treated it 2 months later. She wouldn't write prescriptions, and only wanted to recommend natural supplements. It took forever to get an appointment (even when I was sick). And I witnessed the receptionist being rude and unreasonable to a mentally handicapped man.
It might seem strange to say a hospital is excellent, but that's how I feel about this one. They took wonderful care of my mother for 10 days. The staff was very friendly. The hospital was very clean and everyone went out of their way to make us feel at ease during a difficult time.
I would say not to go here!!! My Mom had told me to try to go there and I went yesterday since I have been sick for over a month. I was given a prescription for Tamaflu and other things I couldn't afford. So I did call back and ask if there was a shot or an antibiotic or something because I have took everything under the sun from the store and I am still sick. I am a Substitute teacher and my immune system is basically shot from the month I have been sick, and this place stated there was nothing they could do. Honestly, I went to be checked for diabetes probably 3 months ago and they turned it into a throat thing and I am just really let down. I told them in the office I could not afford to pay for anything high and the Doctor just walked out. I cried as I left their office.
My daughter and I have gone there for years under the care of Dr. Bennett. Dr. Bennett and Judy his nurse are fantastic. They really care about their patience and always treat us with the utmost care and compassion. We both highly recommend them.
The most unimpressive staff I have ever seen in healthcare. I took almost a week to get a response concerning an out of pocket physical. When I called back to talk to the person I needed they were either at lunch, or on the phone. Way too much phone tag.
