Only car dealership we have used in years!! No other compare!!!
I am writing to report a rather unusual event. I recently had the opportunityto deal with a sales person a Mr. BobWarren. As part of my shopping process, I requested quotes from three Forddealers on a particular car model, with specific option packages. Mr. Warren’sresponses were incomplete and less than informative, leading me to buy acar from another dealership. When he contacted me later, I informed him thatI had purchases elsewhere, at a better price. What followed was a seriesof increasingly nasty emails, first disparaging the other dealer and theirservice department, and then complaining that I was "confused".As part of what I normally do, I posted a poor review of his dealershipon a forum, and a good one about the dealership that I had purchased from….but here is the “kicker”. Mr. Warren sent an email to my employer,complaining about me. As it turns out, my employer is furious with Mr.Warren in particular, (I believe because he’s trying to make trouble for me for exercisingmy right to free speech), and with Ford in general. I believe that not only is this a poor practice (to attempt to intimidateme by appealing to my employer, who had nothing to do with mypurchase of a personal vehicle), but it shows a complete lack ofproper sales technique. I am inclined to tell everyone, in all possibleways, to avoid Galesburg Ford, unless both I, and my employer,receive an apology for this attempted intimidation. This might justbe an isolated incident, by a rather inept salesperson. Your milage may vary...
This was the best car buying experience I've had. I walked in and told the salesman exactly what vehicle and options I wanted, and he located it for me within 5 minutes. They had the vehicle on the lot by that afternoon. All the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Will definatly buy my next vehcile from them.
This is a MUST go to dealer. I had been looking for a car for a couple of months when my husband just happened to go in to Galesburg Ford and look at what they had. Mike was very easy to talk to and as soon as he knew what I was looking for he gave my husband quotes on some different models. We came back 4 days later, test drove the one I was most interested in and bought it. Mike went on the test drive with us and explained all the different controls to me, which helped ALOT!!..Everyone there was very nice and very helpful. We will be using them for any and all of our future purchases.
This was the easiest car buying process I have ever been through. From the very beginning they made myself and my wife feel like family. Gave us top dollar for our trade-in, had enough new vehicles in stock like a big city dealer so we had plenty to choose from. I will be buying my next and last and every car in between from Galesburg Ford. Thank you Chuck, Bill, and Galesburg Ford!!!!! I highly recommend to anyone looking for the hottest cars on the market. Proud new owner of a 2013 Ford Fusion!
It went from the best experience to the worst in a little over a week. I have been dealing with this dealership for years as they serviced my previous ford vehicle. About a month ago I traded in my old truck for a new one and everything was great. About three weeks afterward I get a call from the salesman stating that my payoff for my trade in was more than they thought!! I asked him what he was talking about and it seemed that he took the payoff estimate that I gave him( I told him I was not certain) and never checked with the bank to see what it actually was!! I called the bank and they explained that anytime someone calls for a payoff amount it is logged in their system by the computer and guess what? There was no log of them checking, even though the salesman swears that he did. Long story short, they wanted me to pay the difference. I was very upset that a business who made an error like this would expect me to come out of pocket to fix it. It was too late to redo the contract and they had already sold my old truck. It really backed me into a corner. I refused to pay the amount requested and told them they needed to take ownership for their mistakes like anyone else. I had ordered some extra items for the truck I bought through them and had it added in with my loan. They are holding these items hostage and told me they wouldnt give them to me unless I paid the extra money I owed them. Never in my life have I dealt with people so unprofessional! I will be calling Ford motor Company as well as filling out a claim with the BBB. This Dealership doesnt care about their customers!! All they care about is money and will do illegal things if neccesary to get what they want.. After being a paying customer for over three years and giving them referrals this is the way they treat loyalty? Makes me sick!
