I have used several movers over the years and some were just horrible. Actually I had a negative feeling about the professional movers but the movers of Universal movers & storage changed my perception about the professional movers. They were just amazing at everything. They knew what to do and how to deliver the best under tight budget and deadline. I am really happy and I would love to recommend them. This is the company, which must be ranked as a 5 star company based on their excellent customer service and very competitive price.

Most of the movers are over rated whenever I checked the ratings in the net I encountered this fact. But Universal movers & storage is such a company which deserves all those hundreds of good reviews that they have received from many satisfied clients. I used them twice, last year I used them for a 2 bed room apartment move and last week I used them again for an office move. I received same kind of great service and price in both the moves. All I want to say is Universal movers & storage is among those few movers who are really affordable and capable.

This could possibly be the most professional guys and the good ones ever. I talked over the phone with Maya and he helped me with every single detail he could and explained all the important details. Their helpers Jose, Scott and Chris were fantastic with their job. I wanted it to be a straight delivery so they did it that way. It’s just like you asked for anything and they would give their best to do so. Great job!

I moved to Washington, DC from Baltimore, MD about a week ago. When I was looking to hire a good, reliable and affordable moving company that time my friend Steve came to the rescue. He suggested me to hire this company. Actually he is one of their regular customers. As a result I used them for the move. To be honest, Steve saved the day for me because the movers were spot on. They were flawless at everywhere. They showed their skills at packing, moving and storing. Nothing went wrong and they did everything according to the checklist. I was really lucky to have a neat, smooth, fast and stress free move. All credit goes to the movers.

I used Universal movers & storage yesterday to move my office at a different location and they did wonders with my move. I said they did wonder because deep down inside I knew that the move is not going to be an easy one. They had to bring the packing materials, pack and move all the stuffs within the allotted time and they had to move all my heavy equipment using the very narrow stair ways. So, I was mentally ready for some mess but they had no problems. These movers are so efficient that they made an extremely difficult move look so easy. They were perfect at everything and they were affordable too. So, I have decided to use them for my future moves as well.

I knew I need the best in business to handle my move because of the nature of my move and because of the volume of my belongings. So, I did not bother about the price. I hired the best which is Universal van lines. They were up against a huge task. They had to deal with the glass ware, crystal ware, paintings, other art works, antiques, vulnerable and heavy furniture and they had to use the stairways and the clock was ticking all the time. But still these guys showed their character and great presence of mind. They had the answers for the odds and they knew how to get the job done. They won the race against time and did deliver all our belongings at the other end before the allotted time. I was just amazed with such smooth loading and unloading and when I saw the inventory I was completely speechless. They managed to deliver everything in great condition and also kept the price within the estimated amount. I have to confess that Universal van lines displayed the perfect blend of skills and experience at that too within a very reasonable price. I am obviously going to recommend Universal van lines to everyone I know.

These guys with universal movers arrived early and finished just in time!

They have all the tools necessary to move you. Anything fragile they'll wrap up and strap down. Also, they are very knowledgeable about spacing issues. At first, when I saw then pull up in their truck I thought it was too small for all my stuff but it was a perfect fit. Just make sure you let them know before hand how much stuff you have.



It was my first time getting a moving service and it was totally worth it. True, it is expensive but no hassles, you are not tired and have energy to unpack and organize everything. Craig and moshe did a wonderful job.



Oh, for all you first time movers, packing up the truck takes much longer than unpacking. I was actually a little stressed because we had less time left for unloading the truck but Craig assured me we had plenty of time and 1 hour later, I found out he was 100 % right!



I would definitely recommend this service and shall be using them in the future!

The company discussed a quote with me and collected a deposit based on that quote. When the movers arrived, they started discussing fees which would more than double the original quote. After phone discussions with the manager (Mr. Pinto), we verbally agreed on a flat fee in cash. It was agreed that they would refund the original deposit to my credit card. After the move, they claim that the flat fee was on top of the deposit and refuse my refund.



When I called to talk about my deposit and damaged items, twice they said they would call me back and did not. I finally cornered one of them into actually having a conversation with me and he said he could give me $30 for my $600 table which his mover damaged because it was based on weight. His mover was completely negligent in moving that table. He was a 17 year old goofing off (he told me his age during one of his breaks). He also knocked off panels and transponders that were plugged in for the security system. I didn't even mention these because I do not intend on using them.



These guys are VERY dishonest salesmen. Be very careful. Make sure that if you use them you know exactly what the quote includes. They charge between 12 and 30 dollars per item for EVERY little extra and will FORCE you to use the extras claiming insurance reasons. When you file an insurance claim, they will avoid you.

Stay far away!!! The quote the company emailed me was for $300 to move my 1 bedroom apartment 5 miles down the road in 3 hours. I knew I had lots of furniture so I figured it would probably take longer than that so I predicted it would cost more. It cost $1100!!! Their quote does not include packing materials. I packed all my boxes myself but just wrapping up my furniture they used SO MUCH unnecessary material and then charged exorbitant amounts for their packing supplies!! When I expressed my shock at the final price they claimed all their packing supplies prices were posted online and nothing should have come as a surprise - later I checked and there are no prices given online! After the movers left I also found my quote which CLEARLY said that wardrobe boxes are provided for free (the movers charged me and when I asked about it they told me they cost $$), so I have called the company multiple times asking for them to reimburse my credit card for the wardrobe box fee and am still waiting 4 weeks later. In addition to being overcharged, the movers showed up VERY late, were rude to other people in my apartment building, and in general were very unprofessional (hitting on me, lying to another customer on the phone, etc).
