There is a reason why this salon is always full and the best stylists are hard to book. I had the best coloring and styling job at this salon ever. I appreciate that my stylist listens to me and doesn't force a haircut when I didn't want one. They also don't push products on you. I am very pleased with them so far.
started work in the JCpenney Salon, Oaks mall as Associate Designer. I believe I was lied to and cheated and taken advantage by the Salon leader at JCPenney Salon at Oaks mall, Gainesville. The Associate designer program was longer than quoted because the leader did not schedule me for the appropriate classes. I was not given the opportunities to work behind the chair or with a mentor. The salon leader only was interested in Associate Designers working behind the desk as a receptionist. The Associate designer program is a joke.
I made an appointment for my two children to get haircuts with a stylist, one scheduled after the other. The appointment was for 2 PM. When I checked in at 2, I was told that the sylist was running ten minutes late. At around 2:10, another employee came out and told us that it would be at least another 20 minutes before the stylist would be with us, and that we could shop and come back. I agreed to return at 2:30. At 2:30 I returned, waited another 5 minutes and then asked the receptionist how much longer I would have to wait for a haircut. She checked with the stylist and said that it would be another 10 minutes. At that point I told the receptionist that I wanted to cancel my appointment as I would have waited 45 minutes for the sylist, assuming that in fact I would have actually seen her in 10 minutes and not had to wait any longer. The receptionist apologized and said that the client that was with the stylist had requested additional services and that was why the stylist was running late. At the salon where I get my hair done, had I requested additional services and the stylist was booked, I would have been told that the services could not be performed by the stylist, even though I am a long term client. So, feel free to make an appointment, but if anything else comes up for your stylist, know that you'll be waiting for a while.
