Over the past couple of years I have been a frequent customer at Scrubs By Design and have even introduced friends to the store, but after a recent experience I will never shop there again! I purchased a pair of shoes and a special order had to be placed because the store did not have my size. I explained that I needed the shoes quickly and was reassured that the shoes would be there in 7 to 10 business days. 8 days later I went to the store and picked up some other items I ordered at the same time, but no shoes. 21 days after the original order date, the shoes finally arrived but by this time I already purchased another pair (from a different store). My schedule is very busy and although I tried to get back to the store to pick up the shoes, it was a couple of months before I could make the time. When I was finally able to, I realized that I did not need the pair that arrived late and would prefer to get a gift certificate to the store for a friend. Unfortunately, the owner retrieved the shoes from the shelf and explained that she was not willing to give me a gift certificate because her policy is all returns and exchanges must be done within 30 days. I pointed out that the shoes never left her store and that the order arrived late but she would not budge from her unfriendly, bad business policy. When I told her that business reviews spread fast thanks to the internet, she said I was threatening her, lol! It is sad that she feels threatened by her own unfair, terrible business decisions. Response to the owner: Actually, your claim that I was given the option of canceling my order is false. Furthermore, you assert that I CHOSE to leave my items there for 3 months when in fact the shoes took close to an entire month to arrive to your store in spite of the reassurances I was given by your staff that they would be there on time. I WAS NOT asking for you to make an exception because the item in question never even left your store and your store did not uphold its end of the deal by ensuring that the item reached me within the agreed upon timeframe. Any obligation that you feel the customers have to abide by your policies should be null and void when you fail to abide by the promises and policies you make to your customers.

The only good thing is the large selection. I went in at 2:15 on a Monday. The music was blaring so loud I couldn't think straight. I was looking around for at least 15 minutes & did not see one sales person. I finally spotted someone sitting in an office so I asked her for some help and she acted like I was bothering her. I wanted to try on the clothes but the dressing rooms were locked. I stood there waiting for the employee to help but she was so deep in conversation with some man that she didn't notice me waiting. I finally gave up & walked out.
Hi June_21,I'm sorry you had a negative experience at our store. However, it is posted BEHIND our counters, ON the front of our counters, ON top of our counters, AND at the bottom of your receipt that stethoscopes are NOT returnable or exchangeable. Additionally, this is not our policy but an OSHA LAW that we MUST abide by. We try our very best to remind every customer of this law before checkout, we're sorry if you were not told.
I am from out of town and stopped by this store to possibly buy some uniforms and to find a new stethoscope. I didn't find any uniforms I was interested in but purchased a stethoscope. I found out today from my employer I can not be reimbursed for the purchase from this store out of town. I tried to return it on Monday(purchased on Saturday). I was told I could not return the item although it has not been used. I was told it is on the receipt but prior to the purchase I was not told this policy. I will NEVER purchase anything from this store and I advise any other consumer to avoid this store as well.
Hi FLRN09,I'm sorry you feel you had a bad experience at our store. Our return policy is within 30 days (with the exception of the holiday season, in which we extend our return policy) with the tags and your receipt. Items must be unwashed & unworn & clearance items are not returnable/exchangeable. We have this policy posted at the bottom of our receipts and multiple locations around our store. If you did have your receipt then it must've been one of the other criteria that wasn't met. We have new store manager since 2009 and we feel our customer service has improved tremendously! We hope that you will give Scrubs by Design another try! Have a great day!
