Curia left a bad taste in my mouth. Sierra was rude and petty and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
CLOSED! THIS CRISPERS IS CLOSED. NO OTHERS IN THE GAINESVILLE AREA. TOO BAD. I have to write 100 characters to do this.....what else can I say? There ought to be a place you can just checked "closed". Try the phone number if you do not trust this post
Food tastes like Franco American or Chef Boyardee. Way over priced
I met a friend at Maude's on Thursday night shortly after 10:00 pm. We ordered coffees and wanted to talk, but noticed there were people studying that we didn't want to disturb, so we chose a table in the mall seating area. However there was a table of teenage women there being a little loud, so we chose to go back inside. We were not at our table 10 minutes before one of the staffpeople announced to the room "Um, we're closing now, so you gotta wrap it up, people". This was shortly before 10:30. My friend asked; "I thought you were open till 11:00" ( the posted hours). "Yeah, well, we're closing early, so..." Was the styaff person't noticeably exasperated reply. Thery had locked to interior door to the mall seating area, so we unlocked that door and went back outside where we re4sumed our conversation. Then at about 10:45 another staffperson came outside and kind of half-shouted; "We'r'e closed! So this is OVER!" I've written to the management and, absent an appology I will never be back, and neither will my friend or any of our other mutual friends. The food and coffee may be good, but the abuse we can do without. It may be a good place for "people watching" but the unmitigated disdain for customer service or even common courtesy on the part of the staff that night .... let's just say the employees that night at Maude's are people I don't need to "watch" or see ever again.
stay away unless you want to lose weightwe waited 20 minutes and walked out without foodnot that clean either
It was awful. I guess if you're a college kid and have no sense of taste to begin with, well maybe that explains the dude below me. But for anyone who desires something a bit better than low quality, not to mention, bland food than yeah go here but otherwise go somewhere else. There's a Chinese restuarant right down the road near K-mart. They deserve reconition. Please go there instead.
I ate there for about 3 days in a row and my roommates had no complaints as well. I like it and i got 2 lbs of food for 8 bucks so i don't what this 1 lb/8 was about. This person with they life story below is clearly blowing things out of proportion.I am not a drinker and I can definitely tell when there is alcohol in my food and I assure you that the Bourbon in the Bourbon Chicken was hardly apparent if it even had any.
I literally think this restaurant has been open for a week, and I had to hunt and search to find a way to review it so no one has to waste any money on this place. Please go somewhere else. The mall has better Chinese food than this place. It was awful. Apparently they had a deal going on this week that any order is 50% off since it was the Grand Opening. So my boyfriend decided to go there and pick some things up for lunch. First off let me say that you go in to this buffet scene, and you can self serve, and then pay for what you got by weight. So if you get a dish that's like 1lb of food they'll charge you like 8 bucks. Which is a pretty cool concept...but not worth the awful food.I got the "teriyaki" chicken. See I put teriyaki in parenthesis because it was no where near close to even remotely tasting/looking/smelling like teriyaki chicken. It was this slimy, fried, globby mess with absolutely no sauce/seasoning. It didn't taste like anything. And it smelled sour. I can't explain it but it just wreaked like soured oil. My boyfriend thinks that since this building use to be an old KFC that they're just reusing old moldy chicken. [It was THAT bad.] It had NO sauce. I mean...I'm still baffled at the thought that these people didn't sauce something so simple. My boyfriend got the bourbon chicken, and it too was disgusting. They didn't cook the alcohol off and the sauce tasted like pure booze and 5 spice powder. It was awful. I'm very sensitive to alcohol and just being within a foot of it made me gag. He ended up taking two bites and ended up throwing it away. [Same with my dish as well.] You know how sometimes you'll get low quality chicken and it'll taste really squishy? Their chicken tasted exactly like that. Their lo mien was so greasy. They ended up making mine separate because I didn't want any onions, and even a freshly made dish was full of grease and lacked any sort of flavor. My tongue was literally coated in grease, and it wreaked of old oil. The veggies were over cooked and sopping with grease as well. The only thing that was even remotely okay was the white rice, and that was free. Please don't even get me started on how fast it went through us. I'm not even joking. My boyfriend and I were fighting to get to the bathroom. And we weren't hurling in there if you know what I mean. :( Afterwards I just felt gross and ill after eating their food. And I don't mean that in an "OMG FOOD POISONING WAY!" I mean that in a "it was an awful greasy mess that after eating you'll shoot yourself to the moon with all the crap that comes out of you" kind of way. Yeah that doesn't make ANY one feel good. It's really sad because most people hardly complain about eating at a Grand Opening. And I can honestly say that I've never really had "bad" Chinese food. I mean if you think about it even the crappy kind is good. But this...this was just....I want to curl up in a corner and sobb for these people because now I can officially say that I've had BAD Chinese food. I feel really bad for these people. I mean they JUST now opened this restaurant and they properly worked really hard, especially in this bad economy. But my god if this is what they are serving I highly doubt they'll last a year. Asian Cafe please hire someone who knows how to cook decent authentic Chinese food and you may last. Otherwise I put money down that you'll be shut down really soon.
