Poor Customer Service...Look Elsewhere to be Treated Like a Valued Customer

I have purchased foot wear from Roxanne's many many years ago and had a great experience. But recently I went in to purchase some top quality footwear for work (healthcare work). My first trip in was another great experience, the staff member (Becky) was great. Unfortunately for me, the shoes I purchased had a manufacture defect and became un-wearable after 4 days of wearing them to work. I went back into Roxanne's to do an Exchange, because I really like the shoes. My experience from here declines dramatically. The staff member I dealt with on this occasion was very short, cross, and I hate to say it...but just plain rude. I went into the store with the mindset that the defect was no ones' fault and certainly not the staffs' fault, so I went in cheerful and just wanted to exchange my shoes, but I was treated as if it were my fault, and to just hurry up and pick a shoe and just go away. I was offered the display shoes since it was the last pair like the ones I was exchanging, I declined, much to the salesmans dismay, and had to explain that because these shoes mold to your feet I wanted a pair that wasn't tried on so that they could properly mold to my feet. This was not a satisfactory reason in his eyes and he was overtly annoyed. Unfortunately my shoe size is one of the most common so most patterns or styles I chose were not in stock. So instead of settling for something I did not want and would not be happy with I decided to just have them order a new identical pair from the manufacature. I was told that it would take approx 7 - 10 business days, but because of the defect, the staff member said they would order a rush shipment on it (without my asking) so I gladly took up his offer. when I called.to check on the status of my shipment the following week the woman I spoke with on the phone was also annoyed and rude. Basically, if you purchase anything from here make sure you are satisfied with your purchase and hope that nothing happens to your purchase to make you go back in. Because, as long as you don't go back in as I did you will be treated fine but not if you have to return with a problem. I was warned of this by several of my coworkers who had this same issue with their store but thought that I would not encounter this problem...guess what...I did. When you spend good hard earned money, especially in this economy, you expect at least a small amount of courtesy, I sure didn't receive it. I hate giving any business a poor review but under the circumstance of my experience and with how I have been treated I felt compelled to share my experience.
