I'm not sure where the people who gave 5 stars are eating but I'd sure love to dine there sometime. I have eaten at the HomeTown Buffet at Manchester Center and I was very disappointed. On the TV commercials I see prime rib, fried chicken, fish, roast beef... in reality I dined on super greasy tacos, very bland Mexican style rice, pizza that looked and tasted like cheap store bought frozen and a number of other less than spectacular items. I gave this location 3 chances to impress me and they struck out. Never going back.
Some of the worst Chinese I've ever eaten. The quality of the food simply does not merit the cost of the dinner buffet. Add in a very bad location (high crime neighborhood) and neighborhood patrons who seem to feel the tongs and spoons are just a suggestion rather than tools to pick-up the food and you have some pretty unsavory conditions for eating a meal. In closing I suggest checking the Fresno Dept of Health's inspection records for Great Moon - you'll be shocked this place is still open for business.
For a buffet, their food is a nice hot temperature and the quality is pretty good. Funny how they make mexican style asian foods - chicken tacos and taquitos and salsa! It's a busy place and the serivce is kind of impersonal, but if you're looking for quality and quantity, this is as good as a buffet gets.
Wow I'm so impressed, the food is hot, fresh, and most of all great taste. The selection covers popular food choices from Mex, Asian, Italian, etc. I could not say this 5 years ago. I'm glad I gave them another sit down meal. Merced and Fresno on Shaw are my latest experience.
lots of "just like homecooked" favorites. Always fresh. Hot dishes are hot, cold dishes are cold. Go early.
the Restaurant is a fine place to eat and be with people.
