Someone rated this previously & mentioned that in the '80's this place was in Manchester Center. Sorry to disagree but it was the old Farmers Mkt. at Divisadero & Hwy 99. There were quite a few places inside, guess you could basically call it the first food court in Fresno! Directly across from Roundup was a small place, (you'd place an order at the counter, pick it up & eat at one of the tables in the square or take it home) To this day, I can still taste the pork & beef barbeque sandwiches (pork WAS the best!). Their side salad complemented the sandwich with it's sharp & tangy dressing. It was heaven. I began eating there when I was 20 & am now 59! It was so yummy and still is. In addition, right across from Roundup was a little Italian place (Rossi's) with some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten. Homemade pizza taste, with the pizza dough rolled out by hand, it was as good as my mama's! In fact, my mama, who was born in Rome, Italy use to make their sauce for pasta when I was just a little girl. That's how long their history is in Fresno. When the Farmer's Mt closed it was a sad day until Roundup opened up on Bullard, north of First in the mid 80's. And lo and behold, the owners (think they bought them) ended up with the recipes from Rossi's! So in addition to getting great BBQ food, you could get the same fabulous, rustic, italian dishes of yore, lol! and now, here we go for the 3rd time, yum! Great, great food that transports me back to when I was, much, much younger. Manga, manga!!
I love this place. Excellent Ribeye steak. These two, Joe (the bartender) and Juan (the waiter) are 5 star. I know Its alot but usually I tip th…
I have eaten here twice so really not enough to make a judgement. But I did enjoy the margarita and the service was great. Dave Fansler came over and welcomed me which was a great idea. I had nachos on Cinco de Mayo.....half tri tip and half pulled pork...excellent. Will return to try the specialties...like ribs, etc.
Hubby and I have eaten there once a week the entire month of April, went on my birthday, in May and took friends who had never been there. We ate and drank so much, our server was very attentive, food was fabulous . Going again tonite with same friends. They even went when we were out of town.
Too noisy for me. Cannot carry on a conversation with someone two feet away...dancing and whooping and hollering not for me...but I am in the minority. But the fall of the bone ribs was tasty...I also do not public display peanuts...kids sneezing nearby, etc.
Whatever type of bar-be-que you like, you'll find here! We all ordered something different and shared. There was nothing we didn't like. The service was great. They even sell the sauces and rubs.
Have eaten at this restaurant numerous times...always good. The food and the service are always excellent. We've tried all the other BBQ places in Fresno and Clovis...NONE are better!
Great food...love the bread pudding (but only if I eat it there). Ribs and beans are tasty. A bit noisy, but that means its crowded.
Average BBQ, why go to a chain when there are multiple locally owned that do it better. The service was average, just like the ribs.
same bbq place that was in the Manchester Center food court back in the 80's. Small, limited seating - same great sandwiches!
I went here the other day and had a westwood cheeseburger it was good but the next day I had food poisoning and had diarrhea
