WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Most unprofessional, careless and negligent company I’ve ever had to deal with in my life. Heat was acting funny last year so I contacted American home shield and they sent these people to my house. Guy SET MY FURNACE ON FIRE while inspecting it and could have burned my house down! They offered to make it right by installing a new furnace at no cost to us, only to find out months later they installed it improperly without a filter rack and now our coil is clogged and the furnace isn’t working because it is overheating then shutting down. This is all because the filter was not kept in place and let debris into the coil and it is completely clogged now. Plus they never even applied for permits then tried to say it was our responsibility! Spoke to Carol and Jennifer who were both rude, dishonest and unprofessional, especially Jennifer. After going back and forth with them over the phone and via email for over a week, they finally agreed to help us. They sent someone today to clean out the coil and install a “filter rack” and the guy showed up without even knowing he was supposed to clean out the coil then left the property after saying “he was going to make a phone call”. He never cleaned out the coil. I went downstairs to inspect his “work” and it looks like the guy cut a hole, put some tape around it and threw the filter back in. Filter doesn’t even fit in the “filter rack” (if you could even call it that) and there’s all open space around it. I tried calling Jennifer after the tech bolted from my property without finishing the job he was supposed to do and she hung up on me then must have instructed the secretary not to answer the phones when I was trying to call back. What kind of company does that?! How are these people still in business? Will be seeking legal consult.
I am so frustrated and disappointed in this company. I used a Groupon last week for a furnace tune up. It's been 60 degrees since the guy was here, so today was the first time I turned on the heat.... NOTHING.
They send another guy out who flips the Emergency OFF switch back to ON, and then charges me $69.
What an OUTRAGE and terrible customer service!
Office staff is incompetent argumentative dishonest and foul mouthed. They put me on hold but forgot to hit the hold button . I heard the entire conversation between desk person Tiffany and the other miserable individual "Jennifer" - while getting their story and dollar amounts straight and bad mouthing me . I mean seriously, Who do I think I am to question an illegitimate 900 dollar price hike in my bill, right?! The colorful language trash talking Jennifer used was rather entertaining to over- hear as well.
Do not bother to ask for a manager or an owner. Apparently their is No management and the owner is non existent according to the sorry excuse for office staff.
This is not a business - this is a group of fly by night Thieves! BUYER BEWARE! Steer clear!
*******Update: My HVAC was fixed by another company two days after temp fright was here - FOR A MERE 100 DOLLARS!!
We highly reccomend Temprite. We have used them 3 times. Twice they did a top notch tune up of our 30+ year old furnace. And then when we had a problem with a few of our baseboard heaters not working they quickly got out to us and quickly and correctly diagnosed and fixed our problem. Whether you need a simple tune up or have a problem Temprite will do a great job. We plan to use them always.
Temprite heating in Freehold New Jersey, has the most efficient people working for them. They are not only polite they are very knowledgeable of what they are doing & get the job done. They respond to your call quickly without a hassle. This winter keep warm & invite Temprite in.
Robert P. , 10/27/2015
On 10/26/2015 we had Temprite install a Aprilaire humidifier in our townhouse in Sayreville, New Jersey. The past few years we had been experiencing dry noses and throat problems. Also, we had a lot of static electricity-when we would touch a doorknob we would get a nice shock.
A few days after the humidifier was installed and set at 30% we don’t have those issues any longer. The installation was done in a little over an hour. Thanks Temprite.
I used Temprite for the first time and the technician sent over went straight to the problem. Not only did he fix my problem he found another problem with my HVAC. He was truthful and proved himself a valuable part of the company. They are punctual and let you know the time they will be of service. I will keep the company's phone number right where we can access it. Thank you, Juan
I used Temprite for a number of years until I learned that filters that they were selling to me yearly for ~$45 a piece can be bought online 6-pack for $12. The answer that I got from the President of Temprite is that they need to make a living. I didn't renew the contract and repeatedly asked to remove my name and account from their system, but they keep on sending to me the renewal contract every year, in spite of my request.
Temp rite, thank you for your efficient and timely service. July 10, 2015, we had a problem with our cooling system. We were given a time slot and not only was the technician at my house within the time frame but called 30 minute before arrival. He explained the problem and did the necessary repair with speed and politeness. Thank you Temprite. You and your technicians gets two thumps up from me.
I can't say enough good things about Temprite of Freehold, NJ. On the coldest day of the year, Temprite came out so quickly to access the problem, find the part that I needed, and fix my heat! Their staff was professional, timely and efficient. As a result, my family was toasty warm and comfortable again that same day! Thank you for making your clients a priority
We had to replace two a/c units in our home and called in Temprite. Joe Algerio & Steve Schaar came to our home to do the job. We were very impressed with their level of professionalism and courtesy. They were prompt and ever willing to answer any, and all questions, we had about the units and their approach was refreshingly honest. The two men worked for hours until they completed the job and during that time were never once unapproachable. They did a really good job leaving the place exactly as they found it after completing the job. We were very happy with the result and highly recommend Temprite to anyone looking to get a cooling job done in their home. You won't be disappointed with their level of service and decency. Their manager at the office, David Pettersen, was equally professional and courteous and made himself available to address all our questions and concerns. Upon placing the order for the new units, David had them ordered and installed within two days, during the busy summer months. Now that's what we call service! Thanks Temprite. Kim M.
From Sales (Dave) to installation (Joe A.), Temp-Rite did a great job! Very professional and the work is very clean and polised. Both these guys answered all my questions and did everything to make the experience a very pleasant one. Now, I get to enjoy better comfort and health with the whole-house humidifier and air cleaner they installed! If you ever need any cooling or heating work done, don't hesitate to give these guys a call! Highly recommended!
I don't normally write reviews online, but Temprite really did a great job getting my heat going on this freezing afternoon. I called them and they came right out. Furnace is fixed instead of replaced like I was previously led to believe needed to happen. Saved time and money. Great local company!!
The best way for me to describe Temprite in freehold, nj is a SCAM!!! I have a home warranty insurance and they sent Temprite to fix my air conditioner, From the beginning they mentioned paying money for a new compressor, My home warranty covers a new compressor without having to pay extra. They told me if I wanted an energy saver compressor i would have to pay $1000 extra. I gave them the money and afterwards spoke to the warranty company and they said it was a SCAM, and some companies and employees like to take advantage of customers and see if they could get extra money from them. They also said I would've gotten the same compressor and they didn't know about me giving money to them.
A year later my brand new compressor is leaking free-on and after I called temprite, they said I would have to pay $115 for a service fee and $800 to look for the leak plus all the extras for fixing it, I might even need a new compressor and they cant do anything for me. I wouldn't recommend this company for anything. They are crooks!
I am sorry that you feel scammed. Your home warranty company would replace the compressor only in your 15 year old inefficient air conditioning condensing unit. We explained to you that we could replace the compressor for $0, because it is covered by the home warranty company. However, we would like to explain an opportunity you have here for another option, if you are interested. So we explained that you can take the warranty company’s credit for the compressor only replacement in your old unit, and use that money towards a new, high efficient total air conditioning condensing unit, not just a compressor. We explained that a brand new 13 SEER 2.5 ton condensing unit installed is approximately $3,000. We explained that if you would like, we can use the money from the warranty, add some of our own discounts on top of that, and install that same $3,000 condensing unit, for $1,000. So your choices were: Replace the compressor only in your 15 year old inefficient condensing unit: $0. Or utilize the $2,000 credit from the warranty, and us, combined, and we can install a $3,000 new, air conditioning condensing unit for $1,000. You chose the smart option, and chose the new high efficient complete condensing unit, and not just the compressor in the old unit. You then described frustration that my company would not come over for free to troubleshoot your entire air conditioning system to repair a refrigerant leak. There are 3 main topics I will summarize to explain. There is just way too much detail to type here, if you would please call me, I would spend as much time as you need to understand. First, most likely the refrigerant leak is at the 17 year old indoor evaporator coil, which is connected to the condensing unit we installed 2 years ago. I hope this is obvious how we could not be responsible for that. Second, there is no warranty for anything through my company, you did not hire us directly, we worked for you through your home warranty company. My office staff explained to me, that you have dropped your home warranty company at this time. So unfortunately, they would not be covering any repairs on your systems anymore. And third, manufacturers do not cover the labor for refrigerant leak testing or repair. If through a leak test we found a component in the condensing unit that was leaking and could not be repaired, the manufacturer would warranty the part only. There would still be costs for the labor. I am very sorry for the frustration you are feeling. I am feeling it too. I wish there was something I could do, but I cannot just send my men for free to perform extensive testing and repair work. Perhaps you could feel pleased that you were fortunate enough to receive a brand new high efficiency air conditioning condensing unit for 1/3 of the normal price, and over the past 2 years saved money every time this new unit operated, compared to the cost of operating the old inefficient unit. The savings should have come out to be around $80 per month. Our summers require running the ac approximately 5 months a year. That is a savings of $400 per year. Multiplied by 2 years, is a savings of $800. You have just about made the $1,000 you spent 2 years ago, back in energy savings, and next year, you will be making money, compared to the repair on that old unit. You absolutely made the smart decision, but you would be responsible to pay for repairs to your air conditioning system at this time while you have no home warranty, and have never hired my company directly for anything. Please call me if you would like to further discuss this, or if you understand, and would like to hire us to repair your air conditioning system at a fair price. Thank you, Sincerely, Salvatore V. Sgroi -Temprite President
A few years ago, my husband and I bought a new house and needed to replace the air conditioning unit. My husband usually deals with these kinds of things, but with a new house and all the responsibilities, I had to help out. So I called Temprite, Heating and Cooling, to get information about scheduling and pricing for a new unit. I had passed there building many times on adelphia road in Howell. Both the secretary and the technician were very patient with me, and explained the process clearly to me. They were very helpful. We scheduled an appointment that worked with my busy schedule and when the technician arrived he explained in more detail what was going to be done and about how long it would take. They made me feel very comfortable with an important purchase that I knew nothing about. They were very reasonable and friendly too! I would recommend them to my best friend, actually I have, and others too!
I have a home warranty for various systems in my home. I called my home warranty company when I was experiencing problems with my heating system at the end of October. The company sent Temprite, Heating and Cooling to my home. When the call was dispatched, I was immediately contacted by their secretary who scheduled the appointment. She worked within the hours that worked best for me and was overall very professional and flexible. When the technician arrived during the scheduled window of time, he reviewed with me my covered charges to ensure I was aware of items that may not be covered as well as the required deducible. He fixed the problem with the heat very quickly and was very knowledgeable, and professional. He discussed with me the issue with the heating system, how he fixed it, and suggested some preventative maintenance for the future. I would certainly ask for this company again in the future.
I purchased a home in April of 06 and it came with a home warranty. My heat was not working properly so I called the home warranty company and Temprite is who they sent. When they did the work at my house they tried charging me an extra $100 for a 2nd thermostat. In the contract that was written up by another Temprite employee 2 thermostats were to be installed. The guy from Temprite argued with me about this regardless of what the contract said. A year later the thermostats that were installed had to be replaced. Now I am having problems with the work the connections they made to the furnace. This company's work has but nothing but a nightmare.
Hello, I'm sorry you had a negative experience. When a part, in this case a thermostat, is bad, the warranty does cover the cost. The only time a thermostat would need to be paid for, is if it was not bad, and a client requested for us to replace it. Perhaps there was some sort of miscommunication due to a second trip being necessary, and as you indicated it was a different technician. However in any case, an argument about a misunderstanding should never happen. I train my technicians that customer satisfaction is absolutely #1. Without you, there is no us. We use only high quality Aprilaire or Honeywell thermostats. If your original thermostats went bad, then ours went bad, it sounds like you have a separate issue creating a situation that is damaging these thermostats. I have just began a social media campaign, and I just saw this unfortunate review, that is why 3 years has gone by without my response. If there is ever a misunderstanding of any sort, myself, Sal, or my manager, Dave, are always available to rectify a situation. I am optimistic that with our new intense social media involvement, we can rectify any of these very rare negative situations immediately and pleasantly. I am very sorry you had a bad experience. -Sal Sgroi, President.
