RUINED my hair. Braided my hair very very tight, so tight I got hair loss and destroyed edges, even though I had told them that it felt much too tight and was reassured 'they'll loosen'. Synthetic hair bought from the shop also gave me an allergic reaction. Scalp was itchy, sore and red for 3 days to the point of tears and then on day 5 I threw in the towel and removed them. Awful Awful AWFUL experience and waste of $300! Also, they let me sit in the shop for 5 whole hours before touching my head, even though there was only 1 other person in the shop, they wouldn't even talk to me. I ended up staying there for 12, yes 12 WHOLE HOURS.I also told them I needed to have the hair lightweight enough to put in a ponytail or bun because my work requires my hair to not touch my collar. They ended up putting 7 PACKS OF HAIR on my head, and the hair was so heavy I had to be careful how to hold my head. At $9 a pack, no wonder they put in so much, but it was NOT $8 a pack quality.
Me & my sister went there for the first time and I absolutely loved it ! First time getting my hair done professionally and it was totally worth it ! I got mine done by Amanda I'm in love with my red hair , my sister got hers done by Bree and she was so welcoming and someone you can just have a good conversation with ! She also gave me tips on doing hair because I told her I was in cosmetology, I got hands on experience she is by far the best stylist !
Positive, Friendly and Professional staff. Much better experience than some other shops I could name in the Fredericksburg area.
The shop made a mistake and did not own up to it. Very disappointed. Unable to further recommend location.
Exception service!!!I have been a client of African Hair Braiding for over a year now and I am extremely impressed with the consistent and professional services I have received during each visit. The full sew-in and natural hair styles I have worn are always top quality and prices are very reasonable!! I have tried multiple hairdressers around the DMV area but NONE compare to African Hair Braiding!! If you're looking for great, efficient and professional services, you must visit this salon!
I simply love this place, it's so clean and the workers are so nice...this place rocks
My Senegalese twists are looking flawless, thank you so much. Thus place is just amazing

I was forced to smell these ROTTEN FISH smelling women for 9 HOURS. I walked up to look at a book of styles & the ROACHES scatted also MICE turdes in the book! HEALTH DEPARTMENT WHERE ARE YOU !!!
I am not pleased with the quality of the hair used on my braids, or the follow up experience I had after I wasted my $200. I was a concerned customer and expressed my discomfort after getting my braids for back to school. Yet the owner, Emma, had no sympathy for the discomfort or the financial strain to get the style, since I am a college student and do not have money to waste on a pricey style. The braids itched to the point I started to bleed, and I was breaking out do to the cheap quality of the hair constantly poking and rubbing on my ears, neck and shoulders. I've gotten the style done before here and never had a problem with them until this past visit last week, and the owner said that it was basically my problem and she couldn't and was not willing to do anything about it. She can be a sweet lady, but at the end of the day she is still putting money in the bank whether or not you are a satisfied customer. Its a smile in your face while someone is reaching in your wallet.I am not the only person that encountered this experience with irritation from the hair. My friend had gotten her hair done, and has had them many more times than me. This time she got hers done 3 days before mine and she said that the quality of the braid hair seemed different and she was itching just as much as me. I am in the process of removing the hair, I got my hair done last Sunday, I couldn't last a full 2 weeks. I would not recommend this place if you want to waste $200.
