First, I find it very interesting that Laura L.'s post is identical (verbatim) to Eileen Davidson's post on Facebook. Sounds like some haters with an ax to grind to me...is all I'm saying. Very happy with Salem Fields. If our family can't be together after school, I'm happy knowing the boys are being well taken care of and looked after at Salem Fields. They always have great things to say about the teachers and their experiences there.

The Salem Learning Center in Fredericksburg, VA has improved tremendously! My children are now in a safe and leaning educational center, not just in a babysitting setting. The current director and NEW personnel are very professional, fully qualified, who provide good examples and manners to the children. They are not over ratio any longer because the current teachers and staff knows and understand the local and federal regulations. The Salem Learning Center has now a true curriculum plan delivered by well educated and experienced teachers. My children love this place!! Of course, teachers who think this place was a babysitting setting refused to help improve the processes and decided to damage their reputation. I work in peace each day while my children are in a safe and learning place. Highly recommend the Salem Learning Center!
After using Salem Fields for many years, we finally pulled. The center was great with Ms Pam but since The new director Ms Stephanie, it has gone down hill. The classrooms were always over ratio when I picked up my granddaughter. The school age teacher was sleeping when a parent was dropping off and they had to wake him up. My daughter caught the 2s teacher grab a child by the shirt and started screaming in his face. She has called the kids "f****** brats". The kids will be in the tie down chairs for hours at a time for "time out", a teacher once told me. Another teacher, fell asleep holding a baby and later put another child in the bouncer without strapping the child down and she fell out. Two teachers that were in the infant room did not feed a baby for six hours. I was told by another teacher, two teachers fed a formula fed baby another baby's breast milk and the breast fed baby the formula. There was a teacher that let a child open the back door and that child ran out and was found in the front parking lot. The director leaves mentally challenged teachers alone with the kids. I 100% agree with mentally challenged working with kids but not alone. All these issues have been told to Mrs Stephanie but these teachers still work there. Only thing she says is that they will be put in more training which I believe has not been done yet.
I have found this daycare center to be outstanding. I have had children attend here since they opened. In fact, we were one of the first families to register to this school. Our children love going there and we have never had any issues. The tuition prices have stayed affordable for us, so we are happy too.
My four children currently attend Creative Childcare. This is a great place and my children seem to love it. They do loads of arts and crafts for all of my children even my youngest. My oldest gets to go to awesome places and is so happy when I pick him up. I love the teachers! They always have reports ready for me and let me know when I need to bring something the next day. The owner is great. She greets us when we drop off the children and makes sure that we have everything we need and all of our children are super happy all the time. They all get little stickers or treats from the director when they have had a great day and did all of their work. Love this place, couldn't expect better from anywhere.
This is not a the place you send your child to the owner is fake and the co-owner they will smile in your face and they are not about their word. The children are served basically the same thing everyday with water down apple juice. Some of the employee's ate rude the owner mrs.B knows nothing about childcare all she's does is regulate and throw out demand's I've had a friend that's sent her child there and has came home plenty of time not having knowledge of anything her child has came home with red marks and stracthes on her back. Its just horrible all around but of coarse they will smile in your face at first like everything's ok when the whole day the child learns nothing. .
I do not recommend this place to anybody's family nor if you are to apply here DONT DO IT! The owner's are fraud they will let you go without a warning the same snacks are served everyday the apple juice is watered down the owner orlf the place does not know what she's talking about ever she knows nothing about childcare she only owns the place but again knows nothing! Do not send your kids here they will not get a good nutritious meal. The employees talk 24/7 its just all around horrible.
Being a working mom is hard! Finding people to leave you children with is even harder! We decided to leave an in-home daycare and look into some of the local centers in the area. I received two recommendations for Creative Childcare from people I commute with. From the first phone call, to my tour of the facility, and the days up to my girls starting, I knew I had made the right decision. I have one child in the school age room and another in the toddlers. My 8 year old loves it there! She started with the summer camp, which was filled with fun activities every day of the week, and now does the aftercare program during the school year. The teacher in that classroom is awesome. The amount of time they spend on art projects and creative things is amazing! My daughter absolutely loves everything they do there and I am floored by the projects and activities they have! In fact, she was sad we went to the beach during the summer because she missed a week of camp. That definitely has to mean something! My youngest daughter started off in the infant room. The teacher at the time was wonderful. I could tell how much she loved my daughter and how much pride she took in making sure my daughter was happy. My daughter is now in the toddler side and we love that! She is not walking yet, but they work with her every day to practice. The children do the cutest art projects and I am excited every evening to go in the room and see what they have done. The teachers are amazing and I can see how much they love my daughter and I enjoy talking with them every evening and finding out how the day went for her. The daycare manager is so sweet! She is always there to answer any of my questions or my concerns. She truly cares that not only your children are happy, but the parents are happy too. I enjoy seeing her every evening when I pick my girls up! The owners are kind and always welcome you with a smile. It's truly a great place and they all work hard at what they do. They provide exceptional care and love for each child. I am so glad I found this place and feel more like it’s a family and not just a daycare! Each day I know my girls are safe and happy and that's what matters the most to me!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE! I was very unhappy with the entire experience at creative child care. It was the first time I have put my children in daycare and the entire experience was horrible. Out of the four times I was in the building I only ever saw one person with the children, I only used their services one day because when I dropped off my children that morning there was only one person with the children, they gave me no direction or instruction as to where to go out what to do, and I told them my two year old has a blanket which was his security thing and to let him have it at all times. When I picked them up that evening, I had to walk the entire building to find my children, when I did find them, again there was only one person with all of the children, my youngest drops the balls and runs crying to me for his blanket and juice BC he was without it and I had to find all of their belongings because no one was there to direct me off tell me where the things were. My youngest seemed to have a horrible day and was very upset when I returned and I felt they did not care for him properly. When we got home he day on the couch, drank an entire cup of juice, and acted like he hadn't drank all day. After this I asked for my money back for the second day because they would not be returning because I was unsatisfied with how they treated my children. The owner then proceeded to tell me that I was fabricating the story and was only using them as a day drop off which was not my intention. If they would care for the children properly I would have been more than happy to do business with them but they are unprofessional, lack the proper amount of employees, and do not listen to parent requests. All they care about is the money not the children. Please beware, I would hate for your children to not be treated properly.
I have to apologize for the post above unfortunately it sounds more like a disgruntled employee who didn't get their way and then actually a person that knows anything about the daycare. My children have been going to the Center for over 4 years we consider them family they are a second home for my children. There is not a member on staff that I would not trust with my children after hours. As far as the owner whatever she practices for her religion is none of my concern however I can't say anything about her she is the most caring loving compassionate person I've ever met in my life. She has help my family out and others that I'm aware of several time without even being asked for help. As far as the 1 to 10 ratio as stated above that can't be more incorrect, 1 to 10 may be in the school agers room which is way beyond state rules and regulations perfectly fine. And any other classroom there is normally no more than eight children for one person depending on the age if you know anything about daycare rules and regulations you know each age determines the ratio. I have never nor has my husband ever notice the ratio not being watched closely. To the person above I do apologize for your misfortune I apologize that you feel the way that you do however to anybody else reading this review don't pass judgement based on somebody else's misfortune or mixed feelings tour the center I'll talk to the parents there isn't a person there that wouldn't praise the center.
