We took Chicago friends on Saturday night during Hot Chicken Week and something must have happened to their recipe, because the chicken was not even spicy, let alone hot. They were out of tenders, so menu options were limited. We ordered three fish/chicken combos (two mild, one medium) and two shrimp burgers. Fish was good, chicken was good but NOT spicy or hot, and we did like the shrimp burgers. The point was to feed them HOT CHICKEN, and that was a major failure. The counter guy was very "flip" about everything, so we didn't consider discussing with him. If you want some good fried chicken, I recommend it. But Hot Chicken? Go to East Nashville where they know what they're doing.
Everything was good. I got a sweet tea to go and discovered a hair clip in the cup. Needless to say I will not be back to this Shoney's.
The Red Pony is the best restaurant in Franklin, and we can avoid the drive to Nashville, as it's better than most places up there. Great food & drinks, and great service abound. I love the beef and chicken choices, while my wife says the Shrimp & Grits can't be beat. The staff are friendly and efficient. The building is quite handsome and the location harkens back to yesteryear. Wish I could give it 6 or 7 stars!
Loved the food. Atmosphere was perfect. Staff was very accommodating. Enjoyed this location over the rest in Nashville.
What it lacks in atmosphere is made up by some of the best hot chicken and catfish around. Everything is cooked to order so, it's not fast, but well worth a short wait!
Great atmosphere, food and awesome service. The only complaint it was incredibly hot. Other than that I would revisit this restaurant.
We usually have pretty good service at this location. We won't be going as much now that they have changed their menu. They removed the steak tips from the kids menu! :(
The last few times we have been to this location, the service is slow, something is usually wrong, and the servers seem annoyed!
Foods are great, and also the service. In addition, they are family friendly, too! I had the best dry rib BBQ in TN here... Raw oysters are another thing you should try here.
My first and last experience. The drinks were watered down, the bread too hard, the service very slow, big portions but way overrated food! Not ample parking, nor a comfortable atmosphere. And by the way, soo over priced!!!!
