Surprised by Pazo- we love tapas and thought nothing could measure up to our beloved Amada in Philadelphia. Pazo comes close- fantastic meat and cheese plate, lots of seasonal menu items (zucchini and squash were big on our last visit) and a pretty spectacular wine list. We loved the arroz bomba, which was a perfect paella chock full of lobster and shellfish. The decor is a little on the cheesy side- I could do without wrought iron suns and a giant fresco on the wall, but the service is fantastic and the food won't disappoint.
We live in Columbia, MD and when we want Italian Food, we ALWAYS go to Rocco's Capricio in Little Italy. More often than not, Rocco himself comes to your table to greet you in his Chef's outfit. His son and daughter are usually waiting on tables and greet the regulars by name. The food is fantastic, reasonably priced and you are never rushed to eat and leave. My wife and I love it and usually arrive with at least two or three other couples. Don't pass up Rocco's when you are in Little Italy.
Took my girlfriend there on a Sunday afternoon, live music, and food was great. Spinach crab dip was fantastic, she loved th place.
