Great Happy Hour Menu!!!

For happy hours this is a nice place to go to but I thought their prices are a bit pricy for their regular menu. My friends and I always spend about $100 for 2 people with only 2 drinks. The service is friendly but I prefer to drive a bit further to Matsu for more quality sushi.

very good service and food.....

My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area and saw this place so we decided to stop in. We eat Asian food probably about 3-4 times a week. We sat at the sushi bar, the sushi chef was so entertaining, he was making us laugh and all of the staff is very friendly. We got sushi and teriyaki (sp?) chicken, all of the food was very good. They also have these wooden boxes you can buy for I think it's $5.50 and they fill the box with sake, then they give you markers to decorate the box, they keep all of them on a shelf and when you go back you drink sake out of your box, I had never had it that way before, but the aroma from the box really brings out the flavor of the sake. While we were there the sushi chef told us about their happy hour, haven't been to that yet, but we will def be back. Also have $2.99 sake bombs. We spent about $60 with tip. We got 4 sushi items and the chicken, the sake box, a sake bomb and 2 beers.

Happy hour makes it a great deal

My friend mentioned happy hour one day, during which a lot of the nigiri and the rolls are half off. For the price, it's an excellent deal. However, the maguro was pretty lackluster, almost tasteless. The color and texture of it suggest it may have been frozen. The other stuff was pretty good.

Anyway, a great deal when it's happy hour, but if you're going for full blown sushi, and have the budget for it, I'd go elsewhere. Otherwise, Kobe Sushi can't be beat for the quality you get at the price they offer during happy hour.

Best kept secret in OC

Being Japanese, I expect good sushi and this place delivers!!
The fish is fresh, the chef is an old-school Japanese who knows his stuff & he's got a great sense of humor when you talk to him! We've never had to wait to sit at the sushi bar like most places. Highly recommended!!

phenominal fish

This place has the freshest fish i have ever eaten. The chef, Smiley, is one of the most creative and knowledgeable sushi chefs there are in existence. if ever you have a chance to visit, just let him decide what to serve you, you will not be dissappointed.
