horrible service

My family amd I had dinner here for Christmas because it was the only restaurant open near us. Man I tell you, worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant! Our waiter barely understood us and wasn't attentive to our needs. One example is that we wait for about an hour for one entree while other tables around us that have arrived after us already had all their entrees served. It also took them another 30 mintues afterwards just for 4 bowls of steamed rice, even though we asked for a plate of chicken fried rice. Another example is that I asked our waiter for a cup of water and she came back with a pot of tea, I had to ask another waiter for water!
The food was alright, but it was not worth the stress and long wait. All in all, the food is average, while the service is atrocious.

Great Chinese food!, not Americanized.

Food: Excellent if you know what you order. Don't expect your instinct to pick food is always right. What I mean is with Chinse dishes in general, they may use ""unique"" ingredients or spices that may not be usual with American or Americanized Chinise cuisines. I actually had experience there ordaring something I don't know and having something I didn't really like. For me, that's totally ok to try something new and end up with learning something (could be good or bad).

Anyway, I highly recommend ""House Special Wonton Soup."" Their Duck is also good. Very good. Yes, it's
fatty (that's what a duck is supporsed to be), but good.

Food 2: If you expect ""Americanized"" Chinese food there, forget about it. There are tons of those
Americanized ones everywhere, but there are very few restaurante serving CHINESE foods.

Service: Not good in AMERICAN standard. This restaurante is not so much Americanized (that's
why the restanrante is good for many, but may not for some other peple). Think you visit China and go to one of an ordinaly restaurante there. You don't have to act like humble. Be a kind of bold. If you don't speak up clearly, servers may not get what you are asking for. At least I have never had bad customer servise or communication issues with them like many people complain (I am not Chinese, anyway).

Cost: It is not bad at all. It is just like regular Chinese restaurante (not fast food ones), but food is
a way better.

Horrible Service

My family was just there for Father's Day dinner and we had the most disappointing experience. Food was below average and service was just ridiculous. When they bring you rice, they don't bring the bowls; When they bring the soup, they don't bring the spoons. We asked for 6 waters and they bring you 5. We had to ask for EVERYTHING when we shouldn't have to. We ordered 7 dishes and 3 of them were wrong. And when we asked the staff to change them because they were wrong, the staff with such attitude problem gave us dirty looks as if we're troubling them. One dish never came so we asked the manager to check on it twice and he said it should be coming out soon. But after an hour when we finshed all the other dishes, the dish was still not here so we had to cancel it. What's ridulous was that after another half hour and after we paid when we're about to leave, the missing dish came. Serious communication problem between the wait staff and the kitchen.
The person who took our order was supposed to be one of the managers and he made so many mistakes. I just feel sorry for the restaurant to have such manager on staff...especially this restaurant is trying to be a high end Chinese seafood restaurant. There are many other good restaurants you should try and my advice for you is not to waste your time and money here.

The food they serve is actually not bad. However, if you consider the price you have to pay for the kind of food they serve, you would think they are crazy!!!

It has to be one of the most expensive Chinese restaurants in the bay area, but they are far from the best. Environment is nothing special. Consider going to Serramonte if you can afford to pay this much but demand better food.

good Chinese food

Large dining room, tends a little noisy but Dim Sum is delicious. Great for large private parties.
You can experience a plethora of Chinese cuisine, just ask your server for recommendations.
Always been pleased eating there.

Dim sum done right

Mostly chinese people. Huge tables. Rarely a wait, because the place is quite large - it keeps going back into more and more rooms. Atmosphere is chaotic and fun, not toney - great for kids, great for a relaxed sunday morning. Never been for dinner, always for lunch or sunday morning dim sum. Food is above average, I would say - not greasy like some places, but not sparkling with flavor. Some might say it's slightly overpriced, for what you're getting.
