My 3HP 220V table saw motor needed rewinding. Took it to these folks and had an intelligent conversation on what was needing to be done, approximate charge, and estimated delivery date. One month later motor was still not ready. Each of four visits to the shop always ended with the same empty promise "next week". Finally could not wait any longer, picked motor up still not operating. Rob the owner explained that something was wrong with one or more of the NEW winding as the motor was drawing excessive current, either wired incorrectly, wrong gauge wire, wrong number of turns per coil, incorrectly position of the coils, ???. Contacted another motor house and explained the service that had been performed on the motor, it's condition, and that I was looking for someone to correct the issue. The service representative guessed the name of the company that had done the repairs, stating that this situation was typical of the poor workmanship A-1 had been supplying for years. Be aware of A-! Electric Motor Service. This is a shame as Rob and his people were very pleasant to deal with person to person.
