Never go there! I chose them after visiting 2 facilities before hand. They gave a professional impression. I had double knee replacement on October 15th, 2012 at USMD Fort Worth. On the 19th I was transferred around the corner to Baylor Rehab. They could not find any paperwork. Bottom line was t…

I went in for a smashed finger. I have very good insurance. They charged $2000 to take a few regular X-rays and put a hole in my nail to relieve the pressure. I paid $150 for the initial co pay and have just received a new bill for $748 - that equates to close to $900 to have a hole drilled i…

My mother is in the ICU and you have to scream for the nurses to come. I heard JPS is better. It is sad, not sure if people are over worked but this is not where you want to go when you have liver issues.
When my doctor first told me about this pulmonary rehab program, I had heard of it before but I had never attended one. After I started, I found out that I was learning a lot. They taught me how to breathe, how to clean my house without getting out of breath and how to function again. They also taught me how to use my oxygen and about my medications. I have different inhalers and they taught me what each medication is for and when to use them for different situations. It now doesn't take me as long to do certain activities and I can do so without getting out of breath. I now understand what is going on with my body and how to manage my COPD. I also love the staff here. Ron, Tanya and Morgan are very caring, knowledgeable and encouraging. They are always willing to help you figure things out and they made it very comfortable for me and all of the other patients that were attending the program. They answered all of my questions and they helped me figure out what was best for me. I really enjoyed the program and it really added purpose to my life. I really don't want to leave now that I have completed the program but I know that I have learned what I needed to learn and that someone else can now benefit from this program and these wonderful therapists. Thank you Kindred and I will miss you.Betty Richardson
Just completed a pulmonary rehab program at Kindred southwest. I was a llittle skeptical about how this program would help me but was pleasantly surprised about how much I learned and the improvement I gained in my lung function by going through this program. The staff was so friendly, fun and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about breathing techniques and how to learn to recognize any symptoms before they become a bad problem. This program was excellent and worth the time and effort. Great big thanks to Tanya, Ron, Morgan and Alfred all the staff that was so caring, knowledgeable and fun.
You have been wonderful people and so caring and patient with me. But I want to say thank you to everybody on the 4th floor who took care of me. A big thank you to Robin as she was always coming in to check on me. Also help to ensure that all my needs were taken care of. At times I didn't need to push the call light and Robin was always there. Which was very nice. Mickey who was one of my nurses has been so knowledgeable and very wonderful to talk to. She made me feel at ease and help to answer all my questions or concerns that I had. Even difficult questions she was very helpful.Thank you to Nicole and Indra without you too I would never had a restfull sleep and a great experience. During the nights if it wasn't for them, my sleep would be restless. I almost forgot about Romeo and Raymond but both of you are fantastic as well. Also very funny to talk to.Thank you to everybody else who I didn't mention. I'm so sorry that I don't remember everybody's names but you have all been a blessing. I hope that Kindred Hospital will have more people just like you.
I didn’t know about kindred at all. This was my first time but was referred by one of my doctors who works at Harris Southwest. He said that kindred was a great place for therapy and dialysis. I’m being discharged this coming Monday and can’t wait to get out but going to Texas Rehab. But I just wanted to share with everybody my experience as I know they have a lot of great nurses and tech that work there. I have had outstanding care from Debbie and Shameka who were my two favorite nurses. They were very helpful and anything that I needed and also very kind and nurturing in their care. Michael and Romeo were also fantastic and I appreciate all that they have done. I see that they have some fantastic reviews but let me tell you about my physical therapy experience. It has been a workout indeed. Before I could not hardly stand or walk but now I walk 40 feet twice a day which is Exceptional. Thank you Carla, Teresa and Debra for helping me to increase my strength and also getting me back into the walking mode. Thank you to the entire team for all that you have done for me. I am very hopeful that I will walk again and return to the same health that I was before getting sick.
Three of the kindred staff have been steadfast and very supportive. I used to be in the healthcare field for 40 years and know that it’s a tough job. They have three staff that work there that I would like to commend for their kindness. Two of them don’t even work as a nurse but are in the housekeeping team. Silva and Teresa have both been fantastic in keeping my room nice and tidy and most importantly germ-free. I had one small issue regarding the Lysol being sprayed which caused me to have a bad reaction however they were able to help in getting the issue resolved. I really appreciate that! Mia 😊 kudos to you for being very supportive and knowledgeable of all the policies and procedures when it comes to looking after me. I have had many opportunities to work with many medical professionals throughout the state of Texas and at many different facilities and this is the first one that I have found that most departments are on top of the game and know their department policies and procedures. Also very supportive of the other departments even though it’s not always merited. Thank you for letting me share my experience with you. Glenita.
From what I was told when I was at the hospital in Waco, I was nearly on my death bed due to having pneumonia. My doctor recommended I go to a Ft Worth facility known as Kindred Hospital Southwest. I had never heard of this place , but now that I've been there I will never forget it. They did an incredible job! Morgan in Respiratory was unbelievable, when she came into my room she brightened up my day. Alfred in Pulmonary, he rocks. The Rehab team means business, Tracy and Carrie got me up and gave me a really good workout, it was just what I needed. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant. Dr.Adamo is awesome. He's down to earth and talks to where you understand. Bottom line, my stay was wonderful and when I get back to Waco, I'm telling my family doctor I don't want to go anywhere else other than Kindred Southwest. Happy Hoildays all !!Alvin Harper
Kindred Hospital Southwest, you have some really amazing people working there. I'll start out by naming some I remember: Dominique was one of my techs and she was so efficient that she could actually be a "Kindred Tech Trainer". Sherry and Joyce always focused on me and only me when they were in my room. I spent over two weeks at Kindred and cannot say enough about the amazing nurses, they work exhausting 12 hour shifts on their feet, dealing with patient's demands, yet stayed professional and chipper. Dorothy, RN truly an asset to Kindred. Dr. Adamo, I want you to know how much of a positive impact you had on me. God bless you all. Ruby Seals
We were asked what brought us to Kindred Hospital Southwest considering we live in Broken Bow Oklahoma. My mother's journey started out in Richardson where she underwent several major surgeries that ended up with a complicated course to recovery. We knew our mother was going to need a LTAC facility, so we decided to schedule several tours. The first one we toured they had a person sitting at the front desk, they did not even acknowledge us. The second tour was scheduled, when we walked in there was no one to greet us at the front desk. We decided to check things out while we were looking over the place not one person asked if they could help us. This concerned us greatly. So our last place we chose to visit was Kindred SW, we made an unannounced visit, walked through the door was greeted immediately by a receptionist and taken on a tour of the hospital. Just having someone greet us immediately we knew this was the place we wanted our mother. There were some hiccups in the very beginning as her condition was so complex in our eyes. They scheduled a meeting to see that all questions and concerns were addressed for all could be resolved. I would like to recognize the following staff members and say thank you for all they did. Tish, Lamis, Kelly, Emily, Owen, Katie, Alice, Amanda, Cheryl and Tracye and to many others to name. Jose in housekeeping was amazing. He was always willing to do anything for my mother, something simple like getting her some gowns. The doctors were absolutely great. Dr. Adamo, Dr. Patel and Dr. Patel's PA, Robin were instrumental in my mother's progress and recovery. Robin recommended a new medicine for my mother's heart condition that actually was what helped to turn her around and help get her off the ventilator all together. It was at Kindred that so many of her medical conditions started to improve which is allowed her now to go to an inpatient rehabilitation hospitalThanks to all for caring for my mother and we the family as well.
There's just something about the brand name "Kindred". First thing that comes to mind is top-notch. My second go around here at KSW, I've been ask if I would like to go to another facility and I always request southwest . I'm comfortable and they have a good team. Each program I'm involved with like outpatient therapy, Carrie knows her therapy, I had her the last time I was here along with Tracy in physical therapy. Theses two ladies are great at what they do. The two men in Rehab, Robert he's my buddy along with Eric. Pulmonary guys, Ron and Alfred I learned a lot from you. I was extremely happy to see Dr. Fabuyi and Dr. Bazir was on my case, they are tremendous. Once again, I will be forever grateful for the care and kindness Kindred provides. Darey Sandifer
