I’ve taken old electronics to Brook-Mill for repair since they were located off Brooklyn Avenue on the south side. I tool an older Onkyo receiver in yesterday for diagnosis and to see if it was worth fixing (after Best Buy told me they don’t do that). They are an authorized service center for some brands. Once I took an old portable radio in, and they gave me a suggestion for how I could minimize the problem without a new part. They are frank about the junk people bring in, which may explain why some people complain about their “bedside manner”.
I called about our 9yr old 47" Phillips TV, explained our problem, the guy was extremely polite and nice, explained what he thought it might be, I decided to have them send a tech to see exactly what the answer to the problem is, tech will be here tomorrow. I am quite happy so far.
Dropped off a Pioneer head unit to have a fuse replaced and was told it would take a couple days to repair. 5 business days later they hadn't even looked at it. When I explained that I had my entire dash torn apart waiting for it to be fixed the guy on the phone (Jared Yorke) RUDELY told me "then come in and pick it up". Worst customer service I have experienced in many years. I wouldn't have them repair a toaster. Sad when people like that who are dealing with the public aren't smart enough to realize that customers are basically signing their paychecks...

I was looking for a repair part for my TV. I wanted to find it locally, so i could get the TV fixed quickly. I went to a couple of different places and neither had it, but both said to try Brook-Mill. I went in to Brook-Mill and told them what i needed. I was looking for a replacement lamp for my rear projection Mitsubishi TV. They had just the lamp part, not the whole replacement cage with the lamp included that i had seen online. When i asked how much for just the bulb then, the salesman said it was $129. I told him that i could get the entire assembly online for $45. Granted that is a generic assembly and not a Mitsubishi direct part. He then said that was probably a very ""cheap"" replacement part, which i agreed with. I then said i could get the actual Mitsubishi direct part, the whole lamp assembly, for $100. At this point someone who was around the corner talking on the phone, looked around the corner and said ""that's easy, get it from mitsubishi then"" in a very rude manner.
This was my first time in this place and believe me it will be my last time also. Overpriced and RUDE!
