The guys at Artisan are very friendly and make you feel comfortable, and it was a very clean environment. It was mine and my boyfriends first tattoo and James made it a great experience for us. He did a Wonderful job. Will defiantly go back and we highly recommend checking them out!
I couldn't wait to turn 18 and get my first tattoo...knowing nothing, I let price dictate where and who did my first tattoo. It was crooked and over the years I began to hate it and was actually considering having it removed. A friend recommended I speak with James Dumford at Artisan after he spent so much time with her just discussing her design and placement idea.
I stopped in to show him what I had and what my thoughts were for what I would like to have, something that MEANT something to me. When I came back a week later, James showed me the most beautiful design. It took over 3 hrs but what I ended up with is an original piece of artwork on my ankle that I am proud to show off. I tell everyone who asks to go see him for their work.
The shop was clean and everyone there was friendly. I've had him do two other pieces as well and have nothing but praise for him and his craft.
This shop feels like a family environment and my whole experience was fantastic.
I have had the pleasure of using Artisan for my body art for well over six years now. I have always had an incredible experience when I go in to be tattooed. James is creative, talented and professional. He has taken several of my ideas and been able to make them into beautiful artwork and I get multiple compliments on my tattoos. The color is outstanding and the lines are beautiful. I even had a tattoo that I had gotten somewhere else that he covered up and is now one of my favorite tattoos. I have sent several people in his direction and each of them have nothing but praise for what they have received from Artisan. This shop is amazingly clean and very well kept up. Even though I have moved away from the Fort Wayne area, I still will return to James and Artisan Tattoo Co for my tattoos.
after being tattooed by unprofessional rookies, i had an arm full of bad tats. after researching every shop in ft. wayne, i found my guy! nicky at artisan did the most beautiful cover ups in the area. he made a mess turn into a masterpiece! sice being rescued by nicky, i have TWO incredibly colorful sleeves that i proudly display. he is friendly, professional, and has a talent that others wish they had. all my tats were done freehand, no flash, no stencil....thats a true artist. remember u get what u pay for, id never let anyone else touch my skin but NICKY at artisan!!
if u want a great tattoo that u will be happy with for the rest of your life then u need to talk to nikki. he has done done my last three tattoos and there great. I will never go to another person for any work. so if you want a great tattoo then ask for nikki.!!!!
If you go to Artisan make sure you ask for Nicky. Ive been getting tattooed by him for 3 years and wont go anywhere else. He did a great sleeve on my lower leg that gets compliments everywhere I go. He was freindly and helped with my ideas to make me a great tattoo. He has been on time for every appointment also. The shop was very clean. If you need a good tattoo at a descent price make sure you ask for Nicky Bridgewater, hes the best artist there
As soon as I walked into the shop I was impressed. The entire shop smelled and looked clean. The restroom was spotless. James has done 2 of my tattoos. I love them both. He was professional and listened to my ideas and drew just what I wanted. I am currently working with James for my next work of art. I have sent many of my friends to James that have had work done. James not only has a brilliant talent but his professionalism had me from our first meeting. I will continue to refer family and friends to James for any tattoos. I cant wait to make my next appointment.
I have been getting tattooed by James for the last 7 years. A friend recommended him to me and they couldn't have recommended a better artist. I went in not really having a clue where to start. But James worked with me as he has on all 9 of my tattoos that he has done for me. They are all custom drawn and I have never had to get any of them touched up. James is an amazing artist as well as very professional. He has knowledge behind his craft and will answer any questions or concerns you may have. If you are looking to get a tattoo or piercing highly recommend James with Artisan Tattoo Co. I promise you will not go home disappointed.
I went to go get my bellybutton pierced there b/c my friend recommended it to me to be a good place to get it pierced. When I went there it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was that it hurt, but that was to be expected. duh, of course the piercing was gunna hurt. But the people were nice, the atmosphere was great, and I'm just glad that I got to get it done and over with.
If you're going to go to Artisan I suggest requesting Nicky B as your tattoo artist. He only just started working there, but he's done several of my tattoos and they all look amazing and the color has held well over the years. He's got a light hand, which is a plus for enduring the pain. He's an amazing artist and can draw you anything you want and can give suggestions as to what might make the tattoo look better. So if you really want a piece of artwork that's going to look incredible, Nicky is the artist for you.
BoBo was my artist. I told him what I wanted- a memorial on my upper arm. He used his own crappy handwrighting to spell out my disceased best friend's name and he proceeded to make his cursive m's look like n's which half were slanting one way and half the other. When he showed me the design he had come up with, I honestly assumed it was a rough draft! Nope. He slapped the sucker on my arm and now you can't really tell what the hell it's supposed to say. He also got a little too deep at some points and there are a couple big black dots throughout the lettering. Thank God I only paid $60 for this piece of crap!
these people were rude and were more interested in talking to each other than conversing with the customers. poor quality tattoo as well, the artist went too deep despite telling me he had been doing tattoos for years.
I think this review is a little inaccurate. The way that the tattoo machine is set up, it is impossible for any artist to go too deep. Also the owner does not hire anyone that has not been a professional with references for a minimum of 5 or more years. We urge you to try us again. We have many testimonials that say we are patient and professional. Thanks
