I haven't sold books to them, but I have purchased many. The selection is good, the staff is helpful and willing to look for books in stock if you call them.
I took 5 books 1 being a $116 brand new on amazon and 4 popular books n only offerd $2 a book. Not a very good business.
Avenue Books also does business online as a book buyback company called Moola4Books.com. My complaint is this- over the course of the past year I have had to repeatedly contact them for payment. Im talking upward of $2500. Most recent I had attempted to contact them multiple times over the past 3 weeks for a $400 payment that is far past due. I have received no response- email, telephone call or otherwise as to the status of my money even after repeated emails and voice mails. This morning I find that the telephone number is disconnected. I am furious. The least I feel they could have done is simply acknowledge my concern and give me some sort of response. I have even requested the return of my book collection if payment was not possible, still no response. This is a very frustrating situation.
I buy books from Avenue often, their prices are honestly the lowest I can find anywhere. The staff is also very helpful if you have a question. You can sell books to them online for cash too. Moola4books.com buys nearly of my textbooks though the mail and returns a check to me within a couple of weeks. They make it very easy to sell my books. Recommended all around, A+!
