Fort Stewart in Georgia is home of the Third Infantry Division, and one of U.S. Army's premier power projection platforms on the Atlantic Coast. It offers education and training programs to the army community. It also offers various army community, family housing, and child and youth services, and operates the Winn Army Community Hospital that provides medical care for active and retired military personnel and their family members. It also offers various retirement and soldier support programs and services. The installation postal officer located in the directorate of information management has the responsibility for mail operations and postal services in Fort Stewart, and acts as the liaison between military bases and the U.S. Postal Service. Fort Stewart s office of the staff judge advocate provides legal support to army personnel, their family members, and retirees. It also has a public works department that is responsible for maintaining and repairing all infrastructure and facilities at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
