As a military veteran, I've traveled around and eaten at a great many hibachi grills & sushi restaurants (my very favorite type of dining out). Peking Palace & Shogun's is DEFINITELY #1!!! This place in addition to the warm atmosphere and friendly owners, the food has a unique, home-style taste that I very rarely encounter at other restaurants, especially chain style restaurants! Since I've been a constant customer there for so long, I would learn not long ago that they make their own sauces and use the freshest of foods possible as opposed to industry processed supplies. Quality is this restaurant's bottom line! Yeah, it's no surprise that I'll here multiple times whenever visiting the area! Their good quality food is FAR MORE lasting than any chain restaurant... for me that is. Some chain restaurants have me wondering if I truly ate even after 2 hours! There's no doubt for me after eating here! Definitely worth all of the driving! "Sometimes it's not the destination, but the journey."
Went for breakfast. Waited for ten minutes before someone noticed me. I was the only one there. My bacon tasted like onion. Sent it back and got even more onion flavor in my bacon. Was not even offered a reduction in my bill. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.
Excellent service and excellent food. I love their bourbon glazed salmon. Their prices are very fair.
We use to go often. The last time we were there, a couple of weeks ago, the service wasn't the same. The food wasn't the same. The best little waitress they had is no longer there. While we were trying to eat, they had a broom sweeping and stirring up the dust right by our table.
This place was the worst. We were there on free pie Thursday. It was around 7 p.m. they didn't have what my husband ordered so he chose a medium rare steak. It was still blue on the inside. He sent it back so they sent it back to him burnt. When he ordered banana cream pie, the waitress asked him if that was the one with strawberries in it. After being assured that they had every pie ever made, they didnt. Won't go back.
Sad when you can get some breakfast at 10:45am everyone else eating breakfast but no you can't have it lunch only. Probably won't darken these doors again un less things change. Will go down a few doors where you can get anything on the menu.
They usally have good food but this time I got a meal to go and had to GO back to the place 3 times before they got my order right and then it was still raw and super pink meat
Usually good service but last night was the worst! Had a waiter approached us at the head of the table by my son. He introduced himself as Chris and that he would be getting our drink order. I said we (hubby and I THAT WERE PAYING THE BILL FOR 9 PEOPLE) will have water and Dr. Pepper and before I could even get the Dr. Pepper out he interrupted me and said "excuse me, I will start at the end of the table right here and go around". OMGoodness! My son in law looked at me in dismay like 'did he really just cut you off?'. I said to the waiter "you are the boss, this is your show". Of course, it went downhill from there, everything he did wrong just magnified. Now my son in law is a very sweet forgiving person but he even got upset at this guy for just standing there talking about how precious our grandbabies were and wanted to know all the names and ages and proceeded to tell us how old his children were and that it was his second marriage...omgoodness, we came here to eat not socialize with the wait staff. I think he was truly trying to make up for being so rude about the "I am not a very good waiter bc I can only take drink and food orders in order lest I forget who gets what...WE WILL REMIND YOU, WE WONT' FORGET WHAT WE ORDERED!!!" and we won't care if you forget!! Needless to say, our smallest grandchild was crying and irritable bf the food got there bc she is a baby is was hungry for her dinner. Then this tops it all off. The children and grand children has all dispersed and I was waiting for my credit card to be returned and the waiter was clearing the table (I am thinking it was a little pressure to get me to write a bigger tip bc he was watching, however, that works just the opposite for me. I will give you a tip for what service you provided me but in this case I was way to generous and left his 10% which was more than he deserved. OH...one more thing...I used to wait tables and I am a minimum 20% tipper, and at Christmastime I am usually VERY generous. This guy could have made off like a bandit but not tonight!
Honestly, I was very disappointed tonight with Cheddars. My food was bad, my green beans were bitter sweet. My mac n cheese was hard, the coleslaw made me want to vomit. The spinach dip tasted like Popeyes spinach in a can, the cheese was non existent, and what cheese there was, tasted like rubber! I'm very upset, considering I love Chedders! The service if that's what you want to call it, was absolutely awful! Our waitress never offered a refill. When we told her we were unhappy with our food the only thing she said was is "What do you want me to do about it?" "Our kitchen closes in 10 minuetes." So we asked to see a manager, he was very polite and offered us something else, which at that point we didn't want anything. He even took off the spinach dip and a vegetable plate. Over all, I doubt I'll be returning to Chedders, not anytime soon anyway.
Not child friendlyAfter placing my name on the wait list, telling them I would need a highchair, he said ok. 20-30 minutes later, when our time has past I discover there is a highchair issue. It makes perfect sense to plce highchairs out of the way where others won't trip on them and servers are kept safe, however I should have had the heads up that these tables are limited.
