Evangel Temple is an amazing church. The people at ET are some of the most welcoming and kind people you will ever meet. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted and immediately feel loved and welcomed! The atmosphere of worship is sincere and open. Pastor Don and the rest of the staff exemplify the love of Jesus in everything they do. Every single week, people give their hearts to Jesus and they are invited to plug into a small group that helps teach and train them in their growing walk with God. They have an incredible heart for missions and consistently give to missionaries and other community mission organizations. I attended ET for two years and only left because I moved to another state. But I am soon moving back and cannot wait to be back so I can be apart of what God is doing at ET.
One of the most deceiving pseudo-churches in the River Valley. Pastor's wife lies to people all the time about her hair and her weight loss (she had bypass surgery because she could not control her gluttony, then tells everyone she lost it with “diet and exercise”). They allow one rich woman to control everything, they allow that rich woman to veto any decisions because when they fall short of their money goals, she bails them out. So, she gets to say who gets to be hired or become Deacons. Everyone knows who she is. Once the pastor even told us NOT to witness to her rich husband because he does not like that. I’m not joking… that really happened. They all worship those fake "prosperity Gospel" hucksters like Joyce Myers, T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Rod Parsley, and Jesse Duplantis. They have lots of false conversions and brag about how many people "get saved" even though 99% of those "converts" never return after a few visits (no change in lifestyle of those converts, which is the mark of being born again). If all those converts they proclaim were real, that place would be busting at the seams. You can't have real converts when the pastor and his wife are so fake.... pastor dies his hair black as if that will hide the fact that he's getting older and his wife wears wigs and tells people she just got a new haircut, while miss rich lady rules the place. They have been infected with Nepotism. The Hutchins family has more paid positions in that church than Osteen has feel-good one-liners. It's the family business. They swindled the flock out of huge amounts of money, telling them for 20 years to give money for the new sanctuary, or the "Dream Center", while repeatedly dipping into that fund for their own exorbitant family salaries. That's why, above all, they want to keep the money coming in. They are finally building it but squandered hundreds of thousands, if not millions in the process. We may never know how much because the family runs the place and the “deacons” are hand-picked by the rich lady. It's a sad place for a couple hundred regulars who worship their experiences and their quasi-celebrity pastor more than God.
