PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH TSI. IT MAY BE LONG, BUT OUR EXPERIENCE MUST BE HEARD.
June 2016: My wife has a TSI inspector come out for a free A/C check. He said we had mold and needed a new unit (we had just purchased the 15 year old house earlier that year, figured maybe we may actually need a new unit)
Got the payments for the 10k+ unit and went about our business with our new A/C.
In the past less than 4 years, I have been supremely displeased with this unit. Every 6-8 months there is an issue and someone has to come out and take a look at it. Multiple times my garage has flooded becasue of water leaking from it becasue there is a problem....
Maybe we just got a bad A/C unit, like a lemon from a car dealership. That would have been unfortunate enough, however this company has no intention of helping you with you A/C. They are looking to make money and sell you things you dont need.
Since the new unit was installed we have paid AT LEAST $4k in repairs, parts, and whatever else after having paid off the $10k for this NEW top of line Rheem.
Let me fast forward to a month ago...A/C stops working, we call TSI, they come out and say we need new coils, new this, new that...Frustrated beyond beilef my wife and I say fine (we need the A/C). This time it will cost us $3,300...(I know right, esppecially after these closwns installed this brand new unit themselves!!) The guy even said we need a new piece becasue one of the pieces creating an issue was from the priginal unit, even though they put in a new unit...
Anyway, after talking to a friend of mine he said I was getting ripped off, we called to cancel the next day. This is the part where is got extremely upset
After we cancel, the guy says that his boss said they could do it for $2,800. They said they would do it for $500 off. So naturally I am thinking "Wow, they knowingly overcharged us with an unfair price to begin with" I'll be honest, I know nothing about A/C units so perhaps I was naive this entire time...
We end up by chance talking to our neighbor (with whom I have almost never interacted with in the past) and he says he wants to take a look, that he is a certified A/C tech.
He said $3,300 is outrageous and that is what these companies do. He ends up getting our A/C working again and he charged us a pack of Heinekens.
Please keep reading though, because today is when I got really angry...
We had another issue with the unit 4 days ago surprise surprise. The garage with flooded with water. obviously we are not calling the TSI a-holes again, so we called another company, Griffith, referred by a friend. He comes out and checks the unit and says we need a piece for a coil, but may need the whole coil replaced...Obviously I am skeptical, however he says "Don't worry, this should be covered by the WARRANTY." I told him we have already paid thousands to TSI, THE ASSHATS THAT INSATLLED IT, and that was never mentioned, ever.
I am not going to blame my ignorance on them, but they have no interest in helping you or saving you money. Griffith called us the next day and confirmed it would be covered under the warranty and should cost between $88-120. Those crooks had been doing this and that, constatntly having to fix this or order that and we had been paying them, when they installed it and charged us anyway...
I only mentioned the free check in the beginning of my post to say, I do not think there was anything wrong with our original A/C after dealing with these morons for nearly 4 years. I never had ANY A/C trouble until they walked in our house, and now over $14k later, I will be rid of them.
NEVER DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE, EVER!!
