I am sorry Dana U that you had a bad experience. I cannot tell you how many people I know who absolutely love the Gendron family for taking care of them during their time of loss. They have an excellent reputation for creating hundreds, if not thousands of beautiful tributes to honor loved ones and strive for complete satisfaction. Sorry for your troubles. I would recommend their services and hope others will too.
I cannot begin to tell you how upset my family and I became when we used their service. We had purchased a vault for our mother's urn. It was advertised as this: http://i58.tinypic.com/34r84rt.jpg It seemed appropriate for an older woman, even more so since she always loved flowers and dainty things. So this seemed like a good choice, right? Hell no. We ended up with this: http://i61.tinypic.com/k0img3.jpg It is not even the same dimensions. It clearly shows in the first picture that it was suppose to be rectangular, this crap we got was square. It looked like it had been painted by a 3 year old. The way the paint had been applied does not even look similar, plus the texture was very crumpled and not as smooth as we had imagined. Now take a look at this. This is the side to the lid: http://i60.tinypic.com/swsjg7.jpg Now what in God's name were they thinking when they were preparing this.......GLITTER?!?! This isn't a little girl's slumber party. I would completely understand if this was something someone chose, but this is not shown in the first picture. We were mortified that this was applied. But wait, there is more..... This is the top to the lid: http://i58.tinypic.com/345elc5.jpg There is nothing on it. No decorative rose piece and no nameplate (and it CLEARLY shows the word nameplate on the first picture and it shows it IN the picture). How many mistakes have they made already? I lost count. My brother and sister-in-law had picked this block of you know what up and were speechless at how BAD IT WAS. They tried to tell the employee that this is not what they wanted at all and the employee didn't show any remorse for this issue nor try to fix it. We were in a sense stuck with this thing because of the fact it was only hours away that we had to drive to Kentucky from SW Florida to proceed with the services to lay our mother to rest with awaiting family members. I was overwhelmed with tears when I first saw a picture of it and if I didn't have any common sense I would of went to the store and bought my own paint to fix it. I know our mother would of killed us for this ridiculous joke of an item and felt utterly ashamed when the family members awaiting our arrival saw it. But due to such a short time span we had to in a sense take it. Well on our long road trip up there with mother in tow, my brother and sister-in-law couldn't help but think of that trash can we had in the very back (A.K.A the vault) and then proceeded to call the funeral home once again to see if there was something they could do. Well the ONLY credit that I can give Gendron is that they did overnight the rose décor for the top of the lid( With this overnight shipment we did have to rescheduled the services for the following day). They also sent her name that was to be applied to the top as well.....it sure wasn't a nameplate.... http://i61.tinypic.com/ftbts.jpg. It's as if they were using a label maker in the storage room and someone hollered to label this so they could just get it over with. That's what it was, just a plastic label. Like I said earlier, it's suppose to have a NAMEPLATE and it says it in the ADVERTISEMENT. We were then again slapped in the face with shame and decided to not even put the name on it. Besides, how can you read a thin, black lettered name on that color metal??? Usually I feel no need to review anything. But this is something I couldn't sweep under the rug. We were given false advertisement and very poor customer service and given the line of work they do I don't understand why they don't attempt 110% satisfaction. It is such a critical time in a family's life when a loved one passes away and any questions or concerns they may have should have their undivided attention. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Please go elsewhere.
