I'm always greeted with a smile; all the help is courteous and efficient. The food is served quickly and hot, and I am asked at least twice if the food is ok or if I need a refill. No, it's not a romantic setting with gourmet food, but it's fresh and the seating areas are clean and bright.
Fast food quality at sit down restaurant prices, Had the flounder platter - awful, super thin fillet that was almost jerky dry. Reheated from lunch perhaps. No service. Not once did anyone come buy to ask our party of six for refills or ask how it was. Go anywhere else.
Publix is convenient if you live in Indian Land, and that's about where my recommendation ends. Also, the cookie club for kids is nice. The produce is a joke, especially the organics. They refrigerate a lot of the organic stuff at what I assume is an attempt to make it last longer. Who wants already refrigerated apples or nectarines? Not me. Want already moldy strawberries at a premium price? Head to Publix! The organic clam shells of greens like spinach are always so close to expiring that I can't buy them and use them before they go bad. Same with yogurt, it's often either already expired or about to. The Greenwise organic whole milk is a good price and I'd like to buy more of it, but so often they only have 1 or 2 gallons stocked. I won't stop gping here because it is so easy to run to versus fighting traffic up Johnston especially at peak times. But I avoid buying produce and meat here unless absolutely necessary and only come here for supplemental shopping trips or small purchases when convenient.
Ask for Joanie in Event planning, she's was very helpful when ordering my case of wine for a gift.
If you are looking for a Cheers type atmosphere this is it. The staff always greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome. You can come in alone and just sit at the bar to watch a game while talking to one of the many amazing bartenders or come with some friends and an appetite and grab a table because the servers are awesome too. I've been coming here for a long time with and without kids and it's always a great time.
After ordering my food I opened the napkin surrounding my utensils to find out the napkin had a piece of snot within. Showed the manager and he was non chalant at best. Utensils were dirty and stained. Needless to say I cancelled my order and will not be returning.
The meatloaf with collards and risotto is ssssssssoooooo good!!!! I have had their pulled pork nachos about 8 times and can't get enough! The wait staff is friendly and personable. Will be back!
After eating at Local Dish for dinner last night, I must say it will be my last! We have eaten there several times and never had a complaint. But last night we were having dinner and my cousin was in the area and decided to stop by and say hello. She, by the way, had a coffee from Starbucks in her hand. As we were finishing up our meal the server came to our table and seemed very nervous. She said, I was told to tell you for next time, that is if you come back, that we do not allow outside food or drinks. I found this very disrespectful and demeaning, as it was only coffee. And not to mention she didn't come in the door with us, she only was chatting with us as we finished our meal. I find it odd that the server was very nervous about approaching us, and that the owner himself did not address it was us. He instead had the server tell us. The name of the place is "local" dish, but this native will not be eating there again!
This place can have good food but inconsistent. In addition, the wait staff is rude. And the kids menu is terrible. Disappointing because Fort Mill needs a good restaurant downtown.
My husband and I decided to stop wondering about the Local Dish and we stopped in one weekday for lunch. Because the food was very tasty and fresh and we recieved excellent service by the wait staff, we later took an out of town guest there one Saturday evening. Yumm!
