Having recently purchased a condominium on the New River and Las Olas in downtown Fort Lauderdale, I have taken a tour of the neighborhood and its surrounding restaurants. Being familiar with Hardy Park, I was not aware of the Hardy Park Bistro until I had passed the place several times. From the street, it appeared to be quite plain. On a rainy night recently, my daughter Kate and I were driving through the neighborhood when she suggested stopping for something to eat. I tried explaining that the menu served at Hardy Park Bistro would probably not be to her liking. Kate retorted that she had Yelp'd the place and that it had good reviews.Upon crossing the street from a parking meter, we were immediately met by our server. Sarah questioned whether we wanted to be seated inside or out. Although it was still raining a bit, Kate and I opted to sit outside and watch the weightlifters at the gym next door. Kate commented that some of the women lifted as much as the men.Sarah took our order - the $13.50 Octopus Salad for me and the $5.00 French Fries for Kate. While waiting for dinner, my eight-year old questioned the menu. Kate wanted to know why there were so few "kid friendly" items. Sarah explained that the menu changed weekly and that you could always find something on it to eat. Kate responded with a "yes" - French Fries.A few moments later, a gentleman came out and served Kate and I with Arancini, which is - essentially - stuffed rice balls that are coated with breadcrumbs and fried. We shared them while awaiting our dinner. Later that evening, I Googled the name to learn exactly what was in them.About ten minutes later, Kate and I were served dinner. French Fries are not really hard to describe, so I won't bore you with the details. As for the Octopus Salad, it contained grilled octopus with arugula, roasted tomatoes, garlic and eggplant. I don't remember the type of dressing but I had no complaint.Delicious food in an unobtrusive urban bistro is a rare find in a city like Fort Lauderdale. Not kid friendly from the menu perspective but definitely worth a shot if you are dining with your spouse or on a date. No bar - beer and wine only. Our server Sarah did a great job and provided excellent service. I will definitely dine at the Hardy Park Bistro again. The next time I will try the Braised Short Ribs with Carrot Puree, Black Beans and Broccolini.../s/ William E. Lewis Jr., Davie, Fort Lauderdale and Vero Beach, Florida

When we first walked up to the entrance, nobody would even acknowledge us. They were just walking around without any urgency at all. So we stopped someone and asked if we should just seat ourselves (the place was about 25% occupied). The waitress finally comes up after about 15-20 minutes to give us our menu.We ordered some drinks. (Something that the waitress stated was the strongest drink they have which was already mixed) So im thinking I would get a nice buzz. Nope! it was like drinking juice. ordered another one thinking the second one would do it..Nope! again. Juice! Waited forever, the food finally comes out. Huge portion...but Nooo flavor at all! and really oily pasta. The show was nice although it seemed to last forever and people were losing interets not even really watching it anymore. At a certain time, it turns into a club and all the employees all of the sudden get to moving fast to clear the tables and chairs. The music they started playing was reggae which was really nice, but by then our whole expectation of the place was shot down. We really wanted it to be an upbeat, great service, great food experience. I would not go there again unless we hear theres been some great changes beacsue It really is in a nice location and nice ambiance.
It's a lot of fun here conversation always going on with the person sitting next to you or your bartender. The place looks great inside it's small but it's a very fun environment they have this tradition where you can write on a dollar bill and staple it on the wall to show that you have been there I can't tell you how many single dollar bills are stapled around the walls there. All the bartenders are very attractive very cute most of the girls wear knee-high socks and it's about 90% female stuff. You will never see anybody on their phone in there they all take their job serious food comes out almost immediately prices are easy to work with and they specialize in fireball whiskey they even have these amazing chicken wings called fireball wings make sure you try them it's probably the best wings I have ever had and I have been to a lot of wings places these will get you hooked. It's right down the street from me so sometimes when I can't find plans I'll take a cab up there and just go hang out because every time I'm there I always leave happy. Replace great food great bedside manner great service just amazing they actually opened up a new one off of North Federal. But this one will always be my favorite
My Friend and I were going to go out to lunch for the first time. I said let's going to Las Olas. We were in Fort Lauderdale running errands. We drove down Las Olas viewing the options we had. She said let's try the Italian place. I said ok. We walked in we were greet prompted. She said this place has a good vibe. It's like the restaurants in New York. She's from New York. Bryon, our waiter was fabulous. He thought we were on vacation. He told him we were local. He asked if we were celebrating something. We were just going out to lunch. He was extremely patience did not rush us through the extensive menu. We ordered the Farro Grain Bowl and Rigatoni Broccoli. We also ordered a cheese and salami plate as an appetizer. We let Bryon select the cheeses and salami for us. Everything was great. Throughout the lunch my friend said wow this was a real great choice in restaurants. We also ordered a bottle of Josh Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Our glasses very never empty. Bryon was very attentive to us. We also ordered the Tiramisu which was probably the best Tiramisu I every had.
Shame on Bokampers they advertise a full rack of baby back ribs for a certain price which is fair and the food is good. But there are 16 ribs to a full rack and when three of us ordered, there were less and when I asked the manager about it, he said they do it by the weight. HOW much does a full rack of baby back ribs weigh, thats not what they have on the menu, they only say a full rack. The manager did nothing for the table but he did agree with me. So should you pay for a full rack and get less, should you pay less than your bill because of that ? The food is good but they will never see me again. Shame on you.
For the price you are paying for the drinks it's absolutely not worth it they give you blue martini prices but your drinks and up tasting like Crystal light or Pierce soda depends on if you're one of those rum and Coke kind of people or fruity drinks. The appetizers absolutely tasted like crap as if they were sitting around four hours chips were still bartenders do not serve you or check on you often you literally have to scream their name across the bar to get their attention usually always on the phone to. But it's a nice venue if you want to go relax with some good music and rent of hookah
Love this place! Classy & fun with really great food and drinks, I feel like I'm on vacation and I'm a local! I thought I found a new spot but I've actually run into many of my friends here over and over again. Whether you know someone or not you'll fit right in. Everyone is nice and helpful you can sit by the water or at one of the bars, there is no bad spot here. Eat, drink, people watch, look at beautiful boats, I'm trying to find a reason not go back but I can't.
This is my favorite little get away in Ft. Lauderdale! As a girl going to a bar is a steep proposition, but "BBB" is a great local, hometown, good time, great people, mellow bar with a dart board! Bimini Bay Bar has cool bartenders and patrons who are not pretentious - they are just good hometown people, and you always feel welcome when you go there. A big thank you to the owners who manage to keep prices low, and the beers very, very cold.
Ocean's Grille is awesome! Best seafood and steaks around. Just found out the chef is from one of the fanciest country clubs in the area. No wonder the food is so good. Love the swordfish dinner! The menu is huge and they offer great daily specials. Great patty melt and rueben. Oh and the nachos, delish! Full bar too. A nice chocolate martini for dessert. Unbelievable how this little place puts on such a great spread. Love it!
With my search to find romantic hotspot with live entertainment, I stumbled upon this restaurant. From the reservations to the end of the meal the service is great, as I enjoy my wood smoked prime rib with succulent juices dripping from my lips, I enjoy the live music and hula dancers with an array of colorful skimpy clothing. From fire dancers that defy death and sweet tastes of mai tai drinks. This is one place worth exploring!
