Driving to work on a Sunday afternoon and then the three of us get pulled over by the police. My friend was arrested for knowingly driving without a good license and I was arrested for being a fidgeting backseat passenger. Then they searched me and found a pocket knife and they called it a dagger. They charged me with carrying a concealed weapon. I went to jail it was very boring, cold, and they actusally took my socks. I bonded out and my mom found Mr. Foley. She found him because there was a songf about him on 99jamz radio station. We loved this guy at first because he was real about the case and real down to earth about life. Prior to meeting him we were skeptical because we wanted someone to actually fight for the case. After we met him we hired him we felt comfortable with his work and his staff, especially Casey. We had court dates and motions until finally today justice was actually served when when the Foley team went into court. Casey led the charge on the final motion and she brought it home. She talked to the judge and let him know exactly what was going on and got all the evidence surpressed by making the the state attorney and cop look foolish. With her argument she went to the stand and started rattling off some numbers and we did not know what was up but then we figured out that they were previous cases that she used as examples and they benifited me because she got the judge to be on my side and he granted her motion. The Foley and Casey team can be equated to Sherlock Holmes and Watson or Perry Mason and Paul Drake. Anytime you are in need of a high profile, stylish, competent, and hard working attorney go see the man, Roger P. Foley and His Side kiick Casey "case" Williams they will help anywhere in Florida. They will get the job done for you!
My son ws arrested for going into an abandoned house. He ran and they caught him. They charged him with Burglary of a dwelling a second degree felony, theft, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. They called me and I panicked and the detective called me and interrogated me and tried to have him sign a confession. He was assigned a public defender but she was talking about him taking a bad deal that we were not interested in because it would give him a seriously bad record. So we said no. Than my friend was talking about the lawyer RP Foley and I had heard about him on the radio 99 jamz so we went to see him. I thought he was very nice and professional. I liked him also because he asked my son about church and if he was a believe in Christ and was he really sorry for whatever he may have done. I hired him because he was confident that he could help. He could not guarantee what would happen but he was very confident in his ability to get things done in the court. We went to court many times over 2 1/2 years and finally the coase was thrown out. The state kept setting court dates, the clerk kept messing things up. One time we had court 5 days in a row beacause the clerk state attorney and judge were lost and Foley started yelling and said we had a voice in the court room and they were going to listen. They kept claiming they were ready for trial and then asking the judge for continuances and Foley kept saying he was ready. The state just seemed to want my son to take a plea bargain and they dont care what it does to his future. RP kept saying to me do you want to fight or do you want to plea and he recommended fight and we all agreed. I would Highly Recommend Roger P Foley to anyone in FLorida who needs a criminal attorney.
I was exiting a BK and went to left lane and police immediately pulled me over. The police officer told a lie when he wrote his report. He said I hit a median. Then the other cop comes and has me exit the car and makes me do exercises. He slams me on car and cuffs me. Never tells me im arrested. They never told me that i did not have to blow or do exercises. I did the exercises and gave a breath. They took several breath test that were erratic and ultimately my breat resulty was a .228. The bondsman recommended the best DUI lawyer in town. I was thinking about going with a cheaper lawyer but the bondsman said that he was the best so i went with Mr. Foley. Once I met Mr. Foley I had no hesitation. I had full confidence in this office and Ilet him do his magic. Unfortunately you don't ever know but he did his thing and we went to court today for a motion. I was nervous but confident because when I saw him in the court rooom he took overand had everybody's respect. The attorney for the state tried to give Mr. Foley some case law and it made the judge mad and she asked, " is this what they are teaching you state attorney's now" . Mr. Foley took the report and told the judge it was different and the judge agreed. The Judge said that the officer was premature in stopping me and granted our motion. The officer said I needed a turn signal to pull out onto a one way road-Mr. Foley asked him to go look up the law after the hearing but he was very polite and professional and was never rude with anyone. He just commanded the court's respect. I would highly recommend Mr, Foley to anyone who needs a criminal defense lawyer.
Roger Foley has been my lawyer for seven years and has defended me on numerous occasions. I was first introduced to Roger as a juvenile with a serious felony charge of Second Degree Arson. Granted I wasn’t the model teenager, I still didn’t deserve to be with such outrages felony charges. After meeting with Roger he gave me the raw reality of the situation and I knew exactly where I stood, and the direction we were going to take in defending my case. After this case was settled a couple years passed and I ended up on the wrong side of the law with another felony charge of Grand Theft and Criminal Mischief over a thousand dollars. I wasn’t some outrages troublemaker out to find trouble; I was just a kid that didn’t have the best of luck. Thankfully I had Roger and he was able to understand my situation and defend me appropriately and ended up not having to do a day in jail or a juvenile facility. My misfortune ended up piling over to my adult years and I most recently was charged with the Felonies of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Battery. I was obviously wrongly charged of these crimes, but I was facing 20 yrs in prison. I thank god I had Roger Foley as my lawyer who believed in me and fought for me with all his power. He was able to get both charges dismissed and I am free. Roger was there through all my teenage years and early adulthood keeping me out of jail because he believed that I was a better person. He has represented me on major high profile felony cases to petty misdemeanors and has never stopped fighting for justice. Roger Foley is one of the top lawyers in South Florida.
I was arrested for receiving money from prostitution, including a 2nd degree felony for a gun charge because my assets exceeded the government's limit I could not have a public defender. After reading multiple reviews for various lawyers in South FLorida I chose Roger P. Foley because is reviews were clearly from clients and not other lawyers. I saw reviews from other lawyers that had been written from other lawyers or sounded fake, Like prostitutes who write their own reviews on "the er" review". Mr. Foley's reviews told me that my best opportunity to survive this nightmare was to go see him. The case has lasted 6 months but during that period Mr. Foley was able to get the weapons charged dismissed. Today we went before the judge regarding the the felony receiving money from prostitutes charge and Mr. Foley worked out a plea agreement where I received "adminstrative probation" for one year with no conviction. Thats a really great outcome because as llong as i do not get arrested I don't have anything special and don't have to go see a probatiion officer. I am free to travel wherever I want an thats important for my new job. Its not cheap but if your case is important to you then Roger Foley is the lawyer to see
the way mr. foley had the witness come to his office before trial. He found out the truth about everything else before trial. I had no doubt once mr. foley told me he caught the officer lying and then he lied more so at that point i knew foley would win. Also the bailbondman that got me out told me that Foley is very good at what he does so i felt good about winning. if my friend s got a dui i would tell them mr. foley's name. When the state told him that they would reduce the charges Mr. foley still told me not to accept because he was confident they could not win and would not offer that deal on reckless if they thought they could win. I did not accept it and we went to court and we won. I hope this does not offend any police officers but when he caught them in a lie i realized that police lie and you can not trust them so much. When the officer was being cross examined by Mr foley she actually began to shake like she was lying to her parents as a little kid. Another officer took the stand and tried to say she was present when i arrested but she was not and he proved it so we won. My case was dismissed today july 16, 2010 and im happy its over and i finally feel free
I came to this firm as a pro se litigant who found that I was in over my head as a defendant in a foreclosure suit. Wayne is a great attorney and an excellent strategist for foreclosure defense. I came to him a month before trial and after he generously gave 2 hours of his time at our initial consult (before hiring him). He drafts excellent arguments and motions using appropriate case law and applies it all very well. He understands the disposition of opposing counsel and judges alike. He calls me right after every motion is heard, with the results and next step in the process never rushes me off the phone. I certainly would recommend this firm to anyone seeking an attorney with this type of insight. Prior to me hiring Midler and Kramer I spoke to about 5-6 other firms whose retainer terms were seemingly absurd. Some even wanted a percentage of my homesteaded property ( if we won) AND a hefty fee. Midler and Kramer's fee structure was exceptionally fair, considering the work needed to be done. Hopefully I won't have to need legal counsel in the future, but if I ever do ,its obvious whom I will ask to defend me in any future civil matter.
I don't normally post any comments about companies but I want to thank Corona Law firm for helping me. The Corona Law Firm has helped me so much that I do not know who to thank first. My house is in Ft. Lauderdale but I knew about the miami office first. I went there and spoke to a man named Earnesto. He was very honest with me and explained the whole modification/ foreclosure defense process with me. I was scared of losing my house but I had faith that they would help me. Since I love in Broward the office in ft Lauderdale collected all of my documents and I didn't have to go all the way to the Miami office for informatin about my case. I was helped by a lady named Katia . She was very knowledgable and helpful. They went over all of my financials and they submitted a package to the bank. They would call me once every 2 weeks and let me know how my case was going. Well after a little more than 2 months I got home yesterday and found a FedEx envelope at my house with a modification inside. I am very happy with the new payments and I am greatful to be able to start paying a mortgage again.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Sometimes you get lucky enough to meet a REAL Attorney that cares about his clients, engages them very professionally, follows up (even on Sundays, holidays, and the middle of the night, if needed). Attorney Baum is extremely ethical and makes you feel like you are his only client. It is not very often in life that we meet professional, educated people that are unpretentious. Ron Baum is an exemplary person. He is very easy to talk with, smart, has a good dry sense of humor, and is very emotionally there for his clients in every way imaginable. If he is your Defense Attorney the likelihood of winning your case is high; however the likelihood that he will take care of you; ease your mind and keep pushing hard for you is even higher. He seems to put all his heart and soul into every case. The Criminal Justice system is horrible as we know it, however after using Attorney Baum and getting to know him, your impression is more than apt to change. I have now recommended him to quite a few people and ALL of them were extremely grateful!
I was in a situation I was a couple months from graduating college and it was a time when I came to visit my parents. The officer stopped me for expired tag which was valid. During the process i was not given my rights and was yanked out of my car and placed in handcuffs and searched for any illegal drugs. At the time, honestly they found a bud branches on the floor of car and i also had a firearm which was clean. I was charged with weed and possesion of firearm and spent a night in jail. After Meeting RP Foley from the first conversation we had I knew that my arrest was not done fairly and i knew i was in the right hands and gettting this situation cleared. At the End, the results were that i do a drug intervention program and the felony carrying a concealed firearm was dropped/dismissed. I was able to complete the program and graduate college. ANd now I am pursuing graduate school and very proud of the results. Rp FOley is a great lawyer and I would refer to anybody who is in desperate need of a criminal defense lawyer.
The legal profession is vast, with each attorney having his or her specialties. Here are some of the most common attorneys individuals seek out when they require legal aid:
A criminal defense lawyer is probably the attorney the average person imagines. Criminal attorneys are the men and women who defend individuals accused of a crime. The lawyer may work pro bono - for the public good - so the accused is certain to have representation, even if he or she cannot afford an attorney.
Criminal lawyers are experts in the criminal justice system. They help their clients decide how to plead when first charged by the police and guide them through trial procedures. Defense lawyers must use every bit of their knowledge and resources to get their clients the fairest results from criminal proceedings.
If you are a small business owner or the head of a larger corporation, you may come into contact with a business lawyer. Many big companies keep a legal staff on payroll to deal with the daily operations of running and maintaining a large enterprise. Business lawyers may have more specific specialties like copyright law, product liability and mergers and acquisitions.
Business attorneys may focus their practices on certain industries. There are entertainment lawyers to guide artists through royalties and media contracts, while hospitals employ malpractice attorneys to protect doctors from aggressive litigation.
When you work for a company, you may find yourself in need of an employment lawyer - especially if the relationship between you and your employer sours. An employment attorney prevents people from losing their jobs due to unfair reasons. Workers' compensation lawyers help maintain safe employment conditions and ensure workers receive fair compensation after workplace injury or discrimination.
A personal finance attorney can protect and manage your investments and securities. You may use a finance lawyer to help you prepare your taxes, but you might be better off working with an accountant. A tax attorney is more commonly contacted after a business or individual runs into trouble with the IRS or state regulators.
Real Estate Lawyer
Your family may keep a lawyer on retainer to guide you through the major expenses that come up in life. When buying a home, you could work with a real estate lawyer to make sure you get the best deal and won't get taken advantage of by tricky mortgage agreements or unfair landlords. An estate attorney can help you plan for the worst by creating a will and preparing your finances for after your death.
A bankruptcy lawyer is essential to help you resolve your financial difficulties when they start to spin out of control. Certain attorneys help create strategies to bring you out of debt and speak to your creditors. A lawyer can advise you on which type of bankruptcy you should file for.
If you are suing someone or being sued, you need a civil lawyer. Civil attorneys - and criminal lawyers - are the legal representatives who argue on your behalf in a courtroom setting. Civil lawyers may represent you on matters of business, finance or a wide variety of other specialized needs.
One of the most common types of civil attorneys is a personal injury lawyer. When you're hurt by an outside party and you would like to hold them legally responsible, a personal injury attorney conducts litigation and negotiates settlements to compensate for your pain and suffering. Sometimes many wronged people will join together with a single civil lawyer or law office to form a class action lawsuit.
Most people will turn to a lawyer during a divorce to navigate the emotionally charged legal proceedings. A divorce attorney can assist in determining grounds for separation, division of property and custody of children.
Family attorneys deal with much more personal matters. If you're getting married, a family lawyer can help you prepare a prenuptial agreement or other family planning paperwork such as adoption or inheritance documents.
To ensure you find a competent attorney who won't abuse your trust or drain your finances, you have to make the proper inquiries. There are several questions you should ask, but the majority will fall under three general topics:
Training and Experience Questions
One of the best ways to determine quality is to examine an attorney's history. When you first step into a lawyer's office, you should check for the appropriate certifications and diplomas. You have to ask how long he or she has practiced law and request information that demonstrates the practice's success. Look for precise details such as percentage of cases settled out of court.
Once you inquire about the broad details of their legal career, you should ask questions about their experience that pertains to your specific issue. You should ask how many similar cases they have handled and if they have special skills or training that applies specifically to your needs. Lawyers can't mention clients by name, but you should ask for basic details about identical past cases.
You need to ask about every possible fee that will come up when working with an attorney. You should request a list of all costs in advance so you won't be surprised by additional expenses like overhead. Also determine exactly when you will start being billed. You want to inspect paperwork carefully. If the attorney charges you for his or her experience, you need to make sure he or she will perform tasks personally and not hand it off to an assistant.
Find out if the attorney has a flat fee or charges by the hour. Many civil lawyers work on contingency. Whatever the payment plan, make inquiries about how the lawyer plans to provide service for your money and what you can do if you start to feel unsatisfied with his or her performance.
Lawyer/Client Relationship Questions
When you hire a lawyer, you're agreeing to work with someone over a certain period of time. You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship. The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Great questions to start off with are ones that will make your life easier, such as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle. The more forthcoming the lawyer appears to be with individual needs, the better.
You may keep a lawyer on retainer or you could turn to an attorney during specific situations. Here are some common reasons people begin seeking legal representation or advice:
You Know Your Limitations
If you sign documents and you come across a word you don't recognize, you need assistance. You may need a third party to help you navigate important employment or real estate paperwork. It's essential you fully understand the terms of any legally binding documentation or activity you become a part of. If you are not an expert in a given field, you'll want to hire an attorney who is.
A lawyer may find legal implications or opportunities you might miss. If you find yourself in a civil or criminal matter, a proper attorney ensures you don't receive a harsh punishment for a small mistake.
You're Facing an Important Event/Decision
When making decisions critical to your financial stability or personal life, you may want a lawyer with expertise in your situation to make sure you do everything you can to arrive at the proper resolution. This is especially true when you become involved in a criminal case and your freedom is on the line.
It's not just a matter of legal knowledge; lawyer's have access to numerous resources you do not. They have staff ready to work around the clock and experts in a variety of fields to give your important issues the attention they deserve.
You Can't Be Impartial
During times when personal matters intersect with legal proceedings, you may need to have an advocate to prevent your emotions from getting in the way of level-headed thinking. For example, divorce lawyers can mediate a heated argument and help both partners get on with their lives.
Emotional investment could be subtle. You may want to have a lawyer look over an investment opportunity that looks too good to be true or investigate the merits of a possible civil suit when you feel wronged.
You're Out of Options
Many people turn to lawyers when they are in trouble. If you've been accused of a crime or are in a terrible financial situation, you can find an attorney who will work with what you have available to assist you as you deal with your problems.
Personal injury lawyers find solutions for people who can no longer work under their own power and bankruptcy attorneys prevent people from giving in to debt. If you find yourself in a situation where you can't find a solution, a lawyer may be able to offer the counsel you need.
When it comes time to choose a lawyer, you should start by searching close to home. While you probably don't want the conflict of interest that comes from being represented by a family member, friends and loved ones can recommend lawyers who served them well in the past. If you do have attorneys you are familiar with, ask who they believe would be best for you.
After going through personal references - especially from individuals who had similar needs - you should broaden your search through public information resources. You can call your area's attorney referral service or check legal organizations like Martindale-Hubbell. There are other resources available online. You should check websites for client reviews and other third-party forms of approval.
When you build a list of possible candidates, perform a background check on each one. See if you can find information on their history and success record. Once you find a possible lawyer, you should call to arrange a consultation so you can ask your important questions in person.
By performing the necessary research and taking every available precaution, you can narrow your search to the attorney most suited to your needs.
