When I moved back to Palm Beach County, I'm so glad I remembered Jesse Briggs who owns the Yellow Strawberry in Ft. Lauderdale. It's definitely worth the drive to have a hairdresser who's a true artist who knows how to do layers properly especially for my naturally curly hair. I look great when I leave with a smooth look, and I can manage my own hair between visits. Yes, the layers are perfect, and that makes it easy for me to do. Jesse was trained by some of the most famous artistes Atlanta has to offer.
It's an ""in"" salon set among the Las Olas shops and restaurants, and a fun place to go.

Today I had the single BEST experience getting a new hairstyle that I have ever had. The Yellow Strawberry was chic yet approachable, luxe yet affordable, and all around tailored to achieving my vision of a dream hairstyle. The owner, Jesse, is a one-of-a kind design guru who will take the time to make sure that you are getting everything your hair has to offer you. Even though he has styled countless celebrities, he still took the time to make me feel like I was his only client, and did not stop until (4 hours and a couple of glasses of wine later) I had achieved the specific style I was after. I cannot imagine going to anybody else now, and I would recommend this place to everybody. Cannot give it enough stars!!!

I LOVE this salon. I went to get a full head of highlights for 95$ (a summer special) and the color is AMAZING. The owner, Jesse, is so talented and knew exactly the color for me to look natural and great. It really complements my skin tone and looks amazing. Jesse and his assistant worked very fast through my full head of hair and talked to me and were very friendly the whole time. I was offered something to drink right when I sat in the chair -- a very professional aspect of the experience. The cut is perfect as well. I have a fear of getting too much cut off and it's absolutely perfect. He trimmed it up, and offered some layering to me without pressure to do it before he did it so I could approve, which I really appreciated. The blowout was great too. My hair is difficult to straighten and get it look shiny but the woman who did it was quick and talented as well. The only note that I make is you tip everyone individually - Jesse, the assistant, and the girl that did the blowout. It's nice because they get a direct tip for their work but it's difficult for me to figure out how much to tip them. Overall, it's a great salon and a great place to come out looking and feeling great. Some have written it's pricey but they have summer specials right now that are affordable and way worth it -- especially if you see the owner Jesse. He is truly amazing.

Just went there on Saturday and it was a DISASTER. The stylist got brown hair dye ALL OVER me - she ruined my entire outfit - I had to throw the pants and the top away. She also got dye all over my face, and after repeatedly scrubbing with nail polish remover it finally came off the next day. She took $35 off my $190 bill, but I feel like I shouldn't have paid anything. No one there seemed too concerned about the fact that a client was covered head to toe in HAIR DYE. I got an apology from the stylist, but that's it. To make matters worse, the owner felt the need to show me live video from his house on the beach in Poerto Rico that he informed me I was paying for. This place is way overpriced and extremely unprofessional. There are 20 other salons on Las Olas - try one of those instead!!!

Last year, I got a terrible cut and color at Regis that desperately needed to be fixed. My ends were white, and my roots were bright orange. In fear of another hair stylist tormenting my locks even further, I decided to try and fix it myself... I dyed it dark brown. By that time, it was dried out and pretty lifeless. I thought there was no hope for it... I desperately wanted my blond color back, but was extremely paranoid that some idiot would fry it off, and turn it orange.... Until I discovered Yellow Strawberry... I explained my dilemma, and Flo began to work... My hair turned out gorgeous, golden, and frizz-free. I've been back twice for my root touch up, and will never go anywhere else!!!

For the price and the prestigious location this salon was a major disappointment. The assisted staff were courteous, but when it came time for my haircut the stylist had little to offer when I asked her opinion. This place was voted best place for a new hair style, yet I walked out of there feeling as though I had been on a production line and could have had the same outcome at super cuts.

I have been going to Jesse Briggs at Yellowstrawberry monthly for over 4 years now. I have long hair and highlights that require lots of maintenance.
I love the salon, the service and the atmosphere. I have never been to another salon where the stylist does exactly what I ask for and I leave feeling great about my hair while having a great time.
I have recommended at least 10 friends over the years and they are all loyal customers now as well.
I highly recommend the salon if you are looking for a fun atmosphere (where you are treated like a star every time you walk through the door), cutting edge style and hair that will make people ask which salon you use!

Worth the money. Yes it is pricey, but no one does color like the owner, Flo. She tends to go a bit shorter than I like, but she's an artist and I always walk out in love with my new do and feeling like a new me.
Not only is the salon on the ball in terms of talent and artistry, but they are fast. I have quite a head of hair, in years past I've spent up to 5 hours in top salons while they highlight and style my mane. The longest I've ever been at the Yellow Strawberry is two hours. With this place you get what you pay for. So if you go, be prepared to shell out $250 for long hair cut and highlights. Also, ask for the chief cookie herself, ask for the owner Flo.

My friend and I went here to treat ourselves to a day of beauty....and what we got was a day of disasters! My friends color and cut was awful!!! She had to go to another salon to get her hair evened out cause one side was longer than the other--but unfortunately, they couldn't do anything about the color or her hair would fall out! My perm also sucked and my hair has been breaking and frizzing ever since. Calls to the salon went unanswered!

I am basing this review solely on my first haircut & style at the salon. I had not gone to a salon to cut my hair in years, so I had decided it was time to find a high-end salon that would give me a good change. Cintia, my stylist, did an exceptional job! Everyone who saw my new haircut absolutely LOVED it. My favorite compliment was: ""That haircut is so you!""
I brought a few pictures to show her, so I was prepared. My haircut is so versatile. Looks great straight, wavy, it's cute & flirty, and looks great when I wake up in the morning, which is exactly what I asked the stylist for!
Cintia was great to work with, a super-friendly gal and super-talented hairstylist!
UPDATE: It's now over a year later and I'm still faithful to my same stylist. I'm bumping the rating up to 5 stars. The haircuts I get here really change my whole aura and mood. I feel great and confident every time I walk out of that chair.

I went in for a color. they sat me with Jackie, I should have known the color would be bad considering she didnt even show me a swatch to get any idea of what I wanted. but since they are ""professionals"" I figured she knew what she was doing. I told her dark brown to black got medium brown. my hair is very dark almost black not to mention I had grays that needed covering. after $150 I walked out there 2 toned and still with gray. when I called to let them know i was not happy with the color they called me back 3 days later, gave me attitude, and told me there was nothing they can do and made me feel as if I was trying to ""get something for free"" because I didnt call and complain immediately.
