Guardian ad Litem, also known as GAL, works towards helping the abused, neglected and abandoned children in Florida. The organization represents children who need help during legal proceedings. It also provides training of courtroom procedure, child welfare and the special needs of children to volunteers. Guardian ad Litem monitors their well-being and serves as advisors in the courts. It is associated with Voices for Children, which is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to volunteer guardians. The organization offers forms, links, reference materials and other resources to help advocate for Florida s dependent children. Guardian ad Litem operates and conducts more than 20 local programs in over 20 judicial circuits in Florida.
