First time. Do not come in with out a resv. Wait 35mn when was told only 15. Waited for an HR for dinner. My salmon was tasty but over cooked. The fry's was ahh and cold. Wife's steak was good. That's the only reason they got one star. The bathrooms need attending. 2 HR dinner. What would you say?

Bimini Boatyard

Took our family for my Mom's B'day Brunch. The food and selection was great as was the service!! They've done a beautiful job on the renovation of this establishment. The ambience at our inside table by the window was spectacular and we especially loved the backround sounds of the live steel drum musician only steps away from us. We live in Ft. Laud. yet felt like we were in the Carribean. Only problem, if at all possible you've got to leave room for the dessert offerings because they are to die for.

Probably not worth it

The service was at best indifferent, bordering surly. With so many places to go that offer good food and service why go here?

Food was very good

Food was very good particularly their salads. Wait staff could use some improvement, ours gave the impression that she really didn't want to be there.

Not great, but ok

A group of 5 of us went to Bimini Boatyard for lunch on the advice of our hotel concierge. Two people arrived a few minutes before the rest of us. When we told the hostess we were meeting a couple of people who were already there, she said we were welcome to walk around and find them. Since they had arrived just a few minutes before the rest of us, I would have thought she would know where she seated them and would be able to take us to them.
The server wasn't awful, but we did have to ask for refills and other things like ketchup for our fries. I guess I would characterize the service overall as indifferent.
The food was ok. I had the grilled mahi mahi sandwich. It tasted ok. It came with shoestring fries. I'd prefer a thicker french fry, but whatever.
Even though there weren't very many people in the restaurant, it seemed very noisy, and it was hard to hear what people at the other side of our table were saying. Perhaps that was because another large party was right beside us. Since there weren't that many people in the place, i wish the hostess would have had us sit a little bit further from the large party.
Overall, the place wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. it just...was

Used to be a great place, no more

Used to get great salads and other menu items at a reasonable price. New decor new menu not so exiting, Expensive, Sunday brunch costing over $40.00 per person? what do they think they are? the W hotel? i don't think so.

Pass on this one!

We visited during the Ft Lauderdale Yacht Show. Great location and nicely themed upscale casual atmosphere. We ordered Grilled Mahi Mahi and a Porterhouse steak, The fish was dry and overcooked and the steak was Pork Tenderloin. Waiter claimed he misunderstood order but had asked how to cook the steak. Second round of beers were served warm and rather than replacing them waiter offered to put them on ice for a while. The manager apologized and replaced the Mahi Mahi with Swordfish and reordered the steak.
The steak was extremely tough and lacked any flavor. The Swordfish was very good and cooked just right. The waiter developed an attitude and removed the steak and warm beers from the bill. The restaurant looks great but lacks everywhere else.

Great Seafood with a Caribbean slant

We were told by relatives here in F/L to go see the place. Great location on the river and great food.

We all loved it. The menu was kool. The Seafood all stylized in a Caribbean nature, was some of the best we had the whole week we were here.

The dining room is large. Enough room to fit a small army. The view of the yachts outside made for a great backdrop for dining.

The patio was too hot, so we went inside for dinner. They need canopies outside or something.

Really good overall.

This is the place to go.....

We were on vacation in Fort Lauderdale in March. The concereige at our hotel this is the place to go for a great Caribbean food experience.
He was right. the menu was very innovative and extremely decorative.
We came back for lunch the next day and found the room full. The lunch business was better than the dinner business the night before. The crowd was mostly local business people. You could tell because people were getting up from their tables and visiting others on other tables. Any placer that is this busy for lunch and dinner must be a great restaurant.
We loved both times we were there.

Warning!

Folks, don't spend your money. This place was overpriced and the food was horrendous. Service was poor, dinner cold and the plates needed a good washing. The chef may have been out sick, anyone with pride in their profession would not of sent food looking and tasting the way it did. Stay AWAY!

My stress now belongs at bimini

Usually I won't even bother to review a restaurant or happy hour but last night was almost out of a movie. I've been here before back in the day when you almost had to reserve a spot to stand for happy hour and this hot spot is making a comeback. Highly recommend the apple martini!

Awesome fort lauderdale seafood restaurant

Went with a few friends to Bimini the other night and were really impressed with the new changes going on. We haven't been to this gem of Fort Lauderdale in quite a while and the changes are right on key. Check out the happy hour, we saw some old friends and ended up doing dinner which was top notch!

Group Event, Great Service, Great Food!

I was just at Bimini Boatyard with a group of 16 for a surprise birthday party. The manager in charge of group parties (Patti) was extremely helpful and couldn't have been nicer. She was very attentive to our requests prior to the event and to the details the night of the party. The entire staff made this a great gathering, especially the kitchen with the food.

Great place for parties!

I just hosted a baby shower for about 30 guests there this weekend and it couldn't have gone better. The manager (Patti) and the head waiter (Terry) were wonderful! Every small or large request we made was happily fulfilled. The food was great and the service was too. All of our guests seemed to enjoy themselves and several commented on how nicely everything was done. I was so happy with my experience there that I plan on hosting a big bridal shower there in a couple of months!

Christmas Gathering gone bad

Despite the fact that the food was great. It is unfortunate for me to say that the customer service was horrible. Considering that my party consisted of approximately 14 people it was a shame that we all enjoyed the food and left ther disgusted with the manager/general manager (Janetta). There was a billing issue that arised at the end of our christmas gathering that would have been easily taken care of if it were done by someone else who was more skilled with interacting professionally with customers. Her body language alone was dissatisfying. Her demeaner while interacting with some of the members of my party disgusted me. She presented herself in an agitated manner and spoke not only rudley but loud. I really enjoyed the food but do not care to ever visit this restaurant again simply because of the customer service that i recieved

Not a good idea for group parties.

After taking the time to meet with the managers twice to carefully plan our reception, we were disappointed with our experience. Though we reserved a private room, our guests had to wait in the bar area for the previous party to leave and for the restaurant staff to prepare the room. Once we were invited in the room well after our reservation time, the waitresses proceeded to charge our guests for soft drinks even though our contract stated that soft drinks were included. We did not appreciate our guests having to pay when we had arranged in the contract that they would not have to pay. The manager eventually said that drinks were included after we told her about our contract. Appetizers were supposed to be served at 4pm, but they were finally started at 5pm after we had to tell the manager that we had order six trays. Shouldn't they have already known this? What was the point of meeting with the managers twice before the reception? They didn't have the ingredients to the ones we ordered, so we told them to serve anything at that point. We were later overcharged for the appetizers when the bill came, and we had to tell the manager to adjust it. Once dinner was finally served, the guests seemed to be happy with the food, though several people said the vegetables were undercooked. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone who values service. I am usually easily pleased, but this was not a good experience at all. I feel bad for the chef, because he most likely had a stressful evening as a result of the poor communication and planning on the manager's part.

Meat Market

A big plus (or minus depending on your status) is that the Bimini Baot Yark is a hangout for the singles set looking for opposites. Some of it is quite obvious and distracting from an evening dining
